STAMPlorations stamps extravaganza happening over the past couple of days. Neither of my two cards are truly "original" - which is why I'm so loving the team's CASEplorations challenges
as an opportunity to explore new techniques, ink up new images, and just plain old enjoy playing. The "enjoy" part of playing around is rather odd coming from me, as part of my dabbling has involved distress inks. We know where I stand on those (grrrr...). They were pleasantly cooperative yesterday and Sunday, but today: not so much. Nothing card-worthy emerged, despite my efforts...back to the drawing board tomorrow. For now though, here are my duo:
First: my card inspired by Deepti's lovely card showcased on Inspiration Project Post #3. Only one distress ink used...and a few splats of water...
Second: my Debra-inspired card also from Inspiration Project Post #3 (and this is more a copy than a case, but...couldn't resist those butterflies..and the water-colouring was reasonably reasonable...)

Both are GORGEOUS! Very pretty CASes, Carol! By teh way - the fun foam is that stuff that you buy in craft stores - just thin foam, no adhesive backing, comes in all sorts of colors, including white. Its really cheap - like $1 for a large sheet 12x18". I have a picture on one of my spotlight posts http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2015/02/spotlight-project-cornelia-013.html

ReplyDeleteOH two very beautiful cards today Carol! I love your distress inking on the first one. I think you did a lovely job, and if it makes you feel better, they really do take some getting used to. I almost threw mine out the door the first week I had them! haha! Just a tip, they blend SO much better on watercolor paper! The second card with the watercolored butterflies... OH MY! That is so pretty and just plain fun!! ((Hugs))
ReplyDeleteYou'd never know you have a love/hate relationship with Distress Inks. That green background looks fab and I love the way the butterflies fade out. And of course you entered a butterfly card at LIM. The bright colorful ones would make anybody happy.
