I'm tickled pink - literally - this morning, because today is my first of a series of month long Guest Designer posts for The Pink Elephant! I'm a mix of honoured, thrilled and, of course, nervous, because this is one amazing team I've been invited to play alongside. Thank you to Sheri and the rest of the team for welcoming me into your midst. Happy dancing wildly!
TPE #288 is yet another fun, fabulous challenge:
*GIRLY GIRL*
I admit to an initial fluster-fest with this challenge, because 'girly' specific images are nowhere to be found in my stash (except for some darling ballerina die cuts, sent by sweet, wonderful Bev, which I'm saving until I learn how to colour like an expert!). So, I adapted, interpreting the theme through two cards that feature my 'girly girl' associations...
My first card is heading to the cutest, most adorable, most fantastic girly-girl I know: Ms. T, my niece, who is turning 5 (FIVE!!) on March 3rd. No, I didn't create a Frozen card for her (now there's girly-girl for you!); rather, I went with her 'second' fascination: fairies. One die cut fairy, using sparkle paper, with a sponged distress ink background (yes, you read that right: the DIs and I are trying a reconciliation...for a while) sprinkled with white pigment inked stenciled stars. A W&W happy cutaway and birthday stamp...and ta dahhh. One card winging its way north. When I visit next, I'm taking her on a birthday shopping date - just her and I! No mom or dad to say "You don't need this, or that, or the other thing." Aunty C is going to treat her special gal to an outfit with accessories...her choice! I'm excited!
The 'girly girl' on my second card: colours, butterflies and a first-time-for-me attempt at bokeh...
That's it from me; please visit the awesome creations by
leave them some love, then pull out your girly-girl goodies and join us in the gallery! I'm looking forward to seeing you there!
