Peace...Festive Friday Challenge #41, My Perfect Life~Festive 48, Week 39

Hello...hope you're having a marvelous week so far and I'm wondering how it came to be Wednesday already! Time is flying...

My initial response to Festive Friday Challenge #41 saw me delighted with the photo

(I used to skate...perhaps I should take it up again...), but deciding not to enter because skate and sled images are not part of my collection. Left the site, but then made a return visit, which is when I dedicated some serious attention to the cards the DT shared.  On that second go-round, Geri's card jumped out, and a visit to her blog revealed skates and sleighs weren't in her stash either.  She adapted and innovated, creating a card that I love, love and LOVE!  So...I decided to case Geri's card, not once, but twice...

The background is woodgrain patterned paper; hope I have more 'in stock', because I'm seeing its potential for other Christmas creations.

Geri - THANK YOU for the inspiration!

I'm joining Marina's My Perfect Life Festive 48~Week 39 challenge, too.  I think I'm up to five Christmas cards so far.  Better get crackin'...

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!

  1. Now…who needs a 'christmas' die when you've got that lovely 'peace' cut??? These turned out beautiful, Carol! I love the traditional colors and the CAS style…and they couldn't look nicer than they do against the dark, warm woodgrain! Beautiful!!! I'm honored, and appreciate your sweet comments! Thanks so much for joining us at FF!!!

  5. Your CASE cards are just fabulous Carol!! I am so loving that peace die cut! I love the take that you and Geri had on this challenge and you both knocked it out the park! So you have joined me in being a ding dong you say?? I don't think so! lol You have it all together and I don't know how you do it. Between working, crafting and just hiking and helping with hubby's love of biking-well I'm just plain tired. There is no way I'd be able to craft with all that on the go stuff! I can barely bake and craft. lol Well as we saw it is quite obvious that I can't! lol Thus is why I'm the ding dong, and not you! lol Thanks for making me smile yet another day. Hugs, Brenda

  11. Who needs sleds & skates to create a card? Likely wise to avoid the skates because those darn toe picks can really, REALLY cause some nasty injuries!

You've taken "thinking outside the box" to the next level with these two fabulously crafted country Christmas cards! I love the clean & simple design - completely captures the feel of the photo! Great cards Carol!

  13. Do you remember the Dunkee from the movie Shrek? I feel like him a little bit. Going through my new sweeter and commenting on all your wonderful blog posts, I feel like asking: am I done yet? :)

You are just a fountain of creativity and your cards are so different and you're so using so many different techniques, it's always a surprise to come and visit your blog.

And I honestly doubt my own sanity – I never considered using Browns on my Christmas projects. How could I not? Your cards make it a blatantly obvious that this is the way to go this year :-)
