Because my husband has to work in Calgary tomorrow, and because the bike race in the evening (time trial) is just north of the city, I'm heading in with him. No crafting (sighh...), but shopping! Woo hoooo!!! Scrapbook supply stores are in short supply in these parts, however, I'll take a stroll - coupon in hand - through Michael's. You just never know...As I mentioned, I'm enjoying, immensely the Online Card Class (though I have only three cards to show for it - and we're at Day 4!!). Not only am I learning to stretch my stamps (and dies, as it turns out), but oh my...I need soooooo many new things! Where is that lottery win again?? Currently, #1 on my list is gamsol....any ideas where I might find this blending elixir? Any advice of where to shop, much appreciated. In spot #2 - a new pillow, because my favourite pillow was inadvertently left behind on our trip to Bend; at the hotel in Kennewick, specifically! And yes, I travel with my pillow! As I mentioned earlier...you just never know! Standing in position #3 - strolling through a mall. Sometimes I just need a mall fix...
Today's card isn't part of my homework (procrastinating...), but one inspired by the layout at retrosketches #126
the colours at Cure for the Monday Blues #26,
and the colour 'theme' at ATCAS #44~Gold
Adding to the inspiration: talented, lovely and sporting a new haircut which is gorgeous, Wida, with her mini flower and window card, which influenced my creation below...
Verver poppies (soft pool and soft cantaloupe), with Delicata gold veined leaves and a die-cut
window for the gold sentiment. Easy to make; but getting to it...hours! Go figure...
Off to find my cycling 'gear' for the races before cosying up in my bed. The winds are starting to gust and I think I've heard thunder in the distance.
Once again, I've fallen behind in commenting, despite trying hard to catch up! Your cards have been seen, gazed at and admired a-plenty...the words of delight will be coming! Stay tuned...
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Happy Friday night! ;) Enjoy your shopping trip. I'll come help. haha You don't need Gamsol brand, any odourless mineral spirits (artist grade) should do the trick. Any good art supply store should be able to help you out.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before, you are the energiser bunny. :) I'm technically taking the Stretch your Stamps 2 class too but I've only watched the videos from day one. Perhaps this weekend?? There's little chance of doing the homework though. lol Can I copy off you? ;)
Your card is beautiful. I love the stamp set you've chosen as well as those gorgeous colours. I can relate to the "easy to make, hours to arrive at" comment...been there many times. Worth the trip though. :)
Enjoy your Friday! hugs! :)

I love coming to your blog - you always have something that makes me smile - your beautiful cards, your sharing of yourself that you do, and just the great feeling there is here!! I love the beautiful, bright flowers on this card and the way they pop off the card!! Gorgeously done!!
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha!!! I like to travel with my pillows too!! One more thing to add to the "in common" list, which I think is pretty gigantic at this point!!! Well, here I am, way behind in the races as always and trying to find a little time to comment on all of your amazing creations!! And speaking of busy, whoa!!! HOW are you keeping up with everything?!! Can I get a little injection of your energy?!! All that on the go and STILL putting out beauties like this?!! Yup, you're amazing!! I adore the freshness and softness of this one! The stitching detail is fabulous on both the frame and the circle, and the gold is just the right way to finish it up with pizzazz!!
