Hello,
A warm welcome on this very snowy, cold Alberta Saturday, to Just Us Girls Challenge #664 where we're introducing one of the new challenges on our weekly roster: Clean and Simple. Here, we're looking for CAS cards with plenty of open space (you do not need to have a white background), one major focal point, minimal layers/embellishments. For this particular challenge, as your hostess, I want your cards to be Birthday themed. Bring on the celebrations!
Today, marks our final week with Jules Pedd, our awesome, talented January guest designer. I'm sure you've delighted in her fabulous cards throughout the month - and the one she shared for this challenge is definitely CAS perfection. Many thanks for your inspiration, Jules! Hope you'll join us in the gallery often.
My card really plays on the 'simple' aspect of 'clean and simple', as I used lovely washi images from Pinkfresh Studio's Celebration collection. Adhere the washi to cardstock, die-cut and voila...done! That cake is so beautiful! I want a huge slice; how about you?
Looking forward to seeing your birthday-themed CAS cards filling the gallery!
I love the images and colors on this fabulous CAS birthday card.
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! That washi is so nice. Makes a wonderful card. Yep, I'd love a slice!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for washi! This turned out fabulous
ReplyDeleteLove the washi images...and your die cuts are just as pretty! Great example for us all of CAS design. This would be a gorgeous boxed set of cards!
ReplyDeleteThat washi must be a relative of the stamps and dies I used for my card, Carol. So pretty with the balloons. I love that sentiment font and it looks like it comes with a die which is great.
ReplyDeleteCarol... love your washi birthday. Die cuttable washi... best invention ever for a beautiful quick card!
ReplyDeleteLovely card Carol! Those washi images are so pretty and I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteWhether you stamp, die-cut, or use Washi tape...you always make a wonderful card! Great job, Carol!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to say happy birthday! Love this, Carol!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Carol. Great layout and so colourful. I'm in for a piece of that cake.
