Just Us Girls Challenge #625~PHOTO INSPIRATION Week...Cup of Happy Florals Hello

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #625, where our lovely Bobby has selected this colourful Spring photo as our week's inspiration. So many elements to draw from...

JoAnn Burnham joins us once again as our Guest Designer - and what a fabulous guest she has been with her inspired and inspiring cards! Thank you for sharing your amazing creativity with us this month! Her card - as well as those of the team - show multiple interpretations of this image. Hope you'll take a look and leave some love if you can!

In my previous Just Us Girls post, I created a card using new products from Canada's own Pigment Craft Co. Guess what: doing it again, this time with the Cup of Happy stamps/die set. Because I have serious bird terror (YIKES!), I focused on the colours in the flowers along the bottom of the photo - using them in my flowers and grounding strips - and the wood grain design + colour of the birdhouse, replicated in the design of my cup. For the background, I once again took my cue from a sample card at the Pigment site: using a light grey to stamp the flowers and adding them as a subtle background.

I'm besotted with Pigment Craft Co. products...just sayin'!

How will the photo inspired you? Looking forward to finding out in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #261~Designer's Choice - Critters that Hop...Missees Funny Bunny St. Patrick's Day

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #261, where our wonderful Lindsey has selected *Critters that Hop* as her Designer's Choice. Bunnies, frogs, billy goats, grasshoppers (ewwwww)...looking forward to a gallery filled with cute!

Yes, a bit late for posting St. Patrick's Day cards but...oh well!  We'll consider the entire month a celebration of things Irish and green! My card features Funny Bunny from the Missees Pet Collection, with a basket - from the Donnie Dog collection -filled with hearts to spread love wherever he goes. The hat was fun to make: brim/band from the Donnie Dog set and the 'topper' one of the present/gift dies from the Kitty Cat set. Fun to use products in different ways! Background paper is Doodlebug; panel from Mama Elephant; sentiment from My Creative Time.

Hope my bunny makes you smile!

Check out the cuties from my awesome team:

Looking forward to seeing which hopping critters you'll be sharing with us!

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #624~COLOR Week...Latte Heart Elements Hello (Ivory, Soft Rose, Sage Green)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #624, where our lovely hostess, Lisa, has selected Ivory, Soft Rose and Sage Green as this week's palette. Pretty...and  heart-warming to learn that these colours remind her of her grandmother.

JoAnn Burnham joins us once again as our March Guest Designer. Her card is lovely, as are those by my teammates. If you have a minute to leave them some love, I know that would be appreciated.

I finally made the plunge (and a deep plunge it is!!) to invite an assortment of products from Canada's own Pigment Craft Co. into my collection. The ones I've played with so far are a delight; well made and wonderfully designed. Here, making a debut, are the Latte Heart Elements dies/stamps and the Cozy Stitches Cover Plate. My card was inspired by one on the Pigment Craft website, so not 100% original. I adhered the die cut elements - obviously in soft pink and sage (or as close to sage as I have) - to an ivory cardstock panel, then ran it through my Big Shot with the cover plate. As a result, the coloured elements also have the pretty embossing.  Simple....

Looking forward to your beautiful ivory, sage and soft pink creations filling the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Color Hues Challenge #37~Yellow and Pale Teal...Papillon Note (The Stamp Market)

Hello,

Welcome to Color Hues Challenge #37, where our lovely hostess, Nancy, invites us to play with hues of Yellow and Pale Teal for this round. Such a pretty Spring combination, I think!
v
I reached for a handful of products from The Stamp Market - and a duo of yellow inks from Altenew - to create my card. This butterfly is easy to stamp and the plaid background ever so pretty! Simple...

Looking forward to seeing how Yellow and Pale Teal inspire you!

Thank you for dropping by!

Perfectly CAS #25 March 2022~Die Cuts...You Are So Sweet Bunny and Ice Cream (Missees Pets)

Hello,

Welcome to Perfectly CAS #25, where we're inviting you to use Die Cuts on 1/3 or less on your card/project. Dies....I LOVE dies! So many options!

With Spring coming soon, I brought out an adorable bunny from the Missees Pet Collection and paired him with a tasty triple-scoop mint, chocolate and strawberry waffle cone and matching background paper strips. He certainly is sweet, isn't he!

Please be sure to pop by my teammates' blogs, leave them some love, then play along with us!
  • A friendly reminder: For this challenge, we're asking you to use one-third (aka: the rule of thirds) or less on your card designs, leaving plenty of scrumptious white space (two-thirds of your panel) to draw our eyes to to your focal image. Kylie has included an easy-to-follow explanation on the challenge blog here.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #623~Trend Week...Embossed Pawprints Wishing You A Pawsome Birthday

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #623, where our lovely hostess, Vicki, invites us to use embossing folders as this week's trend. So many ways to use embossing folders - as is through to dressing them up with style and flair - and so many folders to choose from - simple to 3D. Oh, the possibilities...

Once again, JoAnn Burnham joins us as our March guest designer. Her card and those of my team really showcase the umpteen possibilities that embossing folders offer.

I've gone with simple imprinting of my pawprints embossing folder because a) I love it, b) it works perfectly every time (no cracking of paper) and c) I don't have a wide selection of folders. And the one 3D folder I have doesn't cooperate, despite trying all the tips I've read/tried. So...going with tried and true! My puppy face and sentiment finishes up this birthday card for a dog-loving friend!

Looking forward to seeing your embossing folders starring on your projects this week!

HLS March 2022 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge...Mini Slimline Gingerbread Hearts and Hugs + Envelope

Hello,

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers March 2022 Challenge, where Anything Goes. Bring out your dies and let them shine on the stage!

Lots of dies on my mini slimline + envelope ensemble. The little gingerbreads are so versatile and were released by one of my favourite companies as part of a Valentine collection (which is also where I drew inspiration). Here, I've turned them into a friendship card. I partially die-cut the heart from the top of the card; something I should do more often. Aren't those little faces cute! And yes, everything - from their eyes to their icing outlines to the envelope - are dies!

That's it from me! Looking forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #260~Word Prompt - Curve...Rainbows (Pinkfresh and Cocoa Vanilla)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #260, where we're inviting you to share *CURVES* on your cards/projects for the next two weeks. From a curved card shape, to curves 'on' your card, to curvy images...plenty of directions to take with this prompt.

My card has oodles of curves, thanks to this pretty rainbow paper (I really need to whittle down my paper stash!) from Cocoa Vanilla's Daydream collection and the curvy lines of the Pinkfresh Studio ornate dies. No sentiment; I think the little heart says it all!

Please check out my teammates' curve delights, then play along with us!

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #622~Word Week - Lucky...You are my Lucky Charm

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #622, where our fabulous hostess, Elizabeth, has selected *Lucky* as this week's word prompt. For those of you who make St. Patrick's Day cards, this is wonderful timing. So many interpretation possibilities - lucky charms, lucky to have special friends, lucky pennies, to name just a few - as you'll see on the main blog.

We're delighted to welcome JoAnn Burnham, well-known as Crafty Nana, as our March Guest Designer. Her card is amazing, as are those by my teammates! Please be sure to leave them some love, if you have a chance.

I have a 'new' collection of papers from an older release by Doodlebug, fittingly named Pot o' Gold. Patterned papers all the way, with a trio of die-cut emerald green hearts. Perfect for my nephew! Typically, I don't make many St. Patrick's Day cards/projects, but these patterned papers have stirred inspiration to do so. Stay tuned, just in case the ideas actually translate into something concrete!

Looking forward to seeing how *LUCKY* inspires you!

Thank you for dropping by!

HLS March 2022 Christmas Challenge~Anything Goes (optional twist: Twine)...May Your Christmas Be Bright (Concord & 9th)

Hello,

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers March 2022 Christmas Challenge, where Anything Goes is always a choice with an optional twist which, this month, is twine.

No twine for me (or ribbon or threads...those things get me twisted up in knots! The only threads that work for me are cross-stitch...and even that's debatable! LOL!); rather, I'm bringing you some lovely poinsettias! This Concord & 9th Christmas Florals set was a gift from my awesome friend, Lindsey, and ohmystars! It is a wonderful stamp/die combination! I even did some copic colouring!

Looking forward to your Christmas creations, with or without the twist!

Thank you for dropping by!

HLS March 2022 CAS Challenge~Water...Mermaid Make A Wish (MCT)

Hello,

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers March 2022 (where did February go??) CAS Challenge, where this month's theme is WATER. Water colour, water images...plenty of ways to 'splash' water on your projects!

I created a pastel ocean scene as my take on water, complete with waves, water bubbles and, of course a pretty mermaid. A simple sentiment finishes it off.

Looking forward to seeing your takes on *WATER* in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Color Hues Special Challenge - Yellow and Blue Sunflowers Card for Ukraine and Challenge #36 Green and Gold...Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello,

Welcome to a special edition of Color Hues, where we - along with designers from Seize the Birthday - are joining the wider crafting world in showing our support for Ukraine, with Yellow and Blue cards. Little bits of art infused with love!
I've used Paper Smooches Sunflower dies - the sunflower is Ukraine's national flower - for my card, adding them to a circles texture cover plate from STAMPlorations. The top layer of the flowers and the leaves are LF patterned paper, added for a bit of visual interest. A simple card, but one that reflects what I'm feeling as I watch and listen to what is unfolding.  Hopefully, we'll see peace restored soon.

We're pairing this special feature with our regular challenge, where Lindsey, our hostess, invites us to play with hues of Green and Gold for the next two weeks. St. Patrick's Day is near...as is Spring (I hope!).
I combined Doodlebug Pot O' Gold patterned papers with Impression Obsession die-cut shamrocks cut from Emerald Green mirror cardstock and a gold happy die + stamp from My Creative Time. Fun to make - and I'm looking forward to sending it to my niece!

Two challenges means choices for YOU! You can create a card to show love and support for the people of Ukraine or you can make a card using Lindsey's colors of Green and Gold. OR BOTH!

We will have TWO overall winners for this challenge - one for each color pairing - and our usual Top Few.

IMPORTANT: If you decide to make two cards, please post them separately. We don't want to miss any of your awe-mazing creativity!

This challenge will be open until March 14th @ 9AM, with winners announced on March 16th, before our next challenge goes live.

Looking forward to a filled-to-bursting gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!
