Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #221, where we're inviting you to draw inspiration from the photo below.
Have to say, I feel sorry for the birthday boy, who appears to be celebrating all on his own. Looks like the table is set in anticipation of guests, but evidently his 'friends' didn't get the invitation! Poor kid!
Sooooo, I'm going to pretend that three friends will be joining him...late ...bringing with them a coordinated ensemble of cards featuring P13 Happy Birthday papers/tags. These papers are ohmystars awesome and, for this challenge, the whimsical images and colours seemed a good fit (at least I think so). Then again, maybe I just wanted an excuse to play with this designer paper *grin*
Card 1: OUTSIDE: Here, I've used the Lawn Fawn Lift the Flap slimline. Connections to the photo include: banner pattern on the paper, yellow from flowers, blue from balloons, kraft as a nod to the furniture...
INSIDE: Inside, images speak to the photo's birthday theme.
Card 2: I played with a slimline from Mama Elephant....
Cards 3 & 4: Purse Cards using Concord & 9th's Everyday Purse dies (made these a while back and finally had a 'reason' to share them. Those papers/tags...love! I will now be hoarding the rest of the package!
The completed ensemble:
Hope these cards made you smile; hope they cheer up the birthday boy!
My wonderful teammates have interpreted the photo in the most amazing ways. Please visit and leave them some love, which I know will be deeply appreciated:
Thank you for dropping by!
I'm sure these party gifts will be perfect for the boy's guests, arriving any minute now! :) Beautiful use of these papers and images with fab dies... I bet these were so fun and relaxing to make!
ReplyDeleteOh Carol, his friends are just outside and are going to knock on the door in just a second! :) Your goodies are the perfect addition to the fun birthday party all set to happen! Thanks for sharing. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI actually feel sorry for anyone who WANTS to celebrate any old thing these days ... it's more the reason to make extra special celebratory cards, right?
ReplyDeleteCarol, these papers are really magical ... love how you've used them - I was actually going to say how fabulous your no-line coloring was!!! and those PURSES! OH MY STARS, indeed!
xx
Absolutely amazing....LOVE IT ALL!
ReplyDeleteThis one of those dangerous to me posts.... because it’s filled with goodies I want. I’ve tried to forget those purse dies, but with your sweet versions I can forget about forgetting, lol. Super card designs too. I admire your creativity. I’m afraid mine has taken a hike again.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of inspiration from an inspiration that makes you sad! Now I think this is the aftermath of the party, and he's enjoying the last of the party punch. ;) What an awesome collection of birthday cards - the slimlines are great (red always gets my vote) and those purses are too much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a partyful of colourful cards. I guess people celebrating alone is a sign of the pandemic but he probably has an Ipad behind the vase and all his guest are on Zoom.
