Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #527, where our sweet Bobby invites us to use Black Backgrounds as this week's trend.
We're thrilled to have talented Vicky Hayes as our guest designer; please wander to her blog for a visit and, afterwards, drop by at my wonderful JUGS team's places: Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa, Maria and Cécile. If you have a chance to comment, that would be a real treat.
My card features a variety of Pinkfresh Studio products which, in real life, are more visible and detailed than what appear in the photo. What is difficult to see is the 'notched' opening where the blooms have been tucked and the sparkle of the dots. I feel a bit 'meh' about this one. I should have gone with one of the other ideas I had tossed about earlier in the week, before becoming side-tracked and stressed by the issues facing our world. Yes, I am feeling fearful...and I know I'm not alone, which does offer comfort...
Anyway, aiming for some happier thoughts over the next few days and, with winter revisiting us here, I have even more reason to stay indoors and play!
Looking forward to seeing your Black Backgrounds in action over at the gallery!
Thank you for dropping by!
I love the black and white scheme with the zing of those sparkling dots - and you can see if you zoom in :) I'm intrigued by that notch too.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely not alone in feeling scared and stressed. We are all going to need courage and faith in the months ahead. Sending hugs, Vicky x
I think it came out great C! I love the bold white against the black. I too am a little uneasy and can't believe we are here...so to speak! Crazy times for sure! I say we keep crafting to occupy our time! Hugs my friend!
ReplyDeleteYou are so hard on yourself - this card is bold and eye-catching! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThis is so striking, Carol! Great job. Hugs to you as we navigate this turbulent time. Craft to your heart's content and play with your sweet Lily as much as possible. :) Big squishy hugs!
ReplyDeleteLove the B&W with the pop of color -- great card
ReplyDeleteOh, at first I thought your die cut stems were in a curve - how clever to insert them into a circle cut out!! So pretty with the white on black and pops of color with the dots!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, dramatic effect! I love how you tucked the stems into the circle on this fabulous design! Love the sparkly dots, too.
ReplyDeleteSimple and such a striking result you have here Carol. Nice touch of colour with the gems.
ReplyDeleteWow this is so stunning. Love those flowers. They look so fun but delicate! Great job working with the black background!
ReplyDeleteThose line art die cuts look stunning against the black, Carol. As the card says "Awesome"!
