Just Us Girls Challenge #490~Word Week...Happy Thoughts

Hello,

Happy June 1st! Can you believe it! We've shifted from winter weather to fire/smoke season in the span of two weeks. Currently, fires in northern Alberta are raging, leading to significant evacuations and air quality issues that span as far as Minneapolis and Detroit.  Right now, our air quality index is 10+ which, translated, means stay inside! I'm schedule to officiate a mountain bike race this weekend...guess we'll see if that comes to fruition.

ANYWAY, welcomes to Just Us Girls Challenge #490~Word Week, where our lovely Sue invites us to go RETRO with our cards/projects.  Colours, images...whatever you have that throws us back in time!

New month means a new guest designer; we're thrilled to welcome Marlena McDeavitt in that role. Please visit her, as well as my teammates - Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa and Maria - who would love to know you dropped by.

I've used Concord & 9th's Retro Petals turnabout for my card in retro colours: turquoise, yellow, orange-ish and brown. I think we used to have wallpaper sporting that combination...

Over to you...

Looking forward seeing your RETRO creations in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

  1. Oh man, I'm sorry that the fire season started so abruptly for you all. I hope that fire is contained quickly! I was shocked to see the other day on the news that currently our state has no drought areas. First time in forever, I think. That could change soon as the weather is going to be heating up. Anyway, I love your card. I really like the retro vibe. You nailed it perfectly. And I think the sentiment is just so sweet! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe!

  5. What a fabulous result you got with your turnabout stamp. Great retro colour choice Carol. Hope the fires are all out now. I am sure we will have a bad one after Winter as we have had great rain and grass is high and will dry off soon.
