My card speaks to the theme in a general way...celebrate every.single.day! Another one of my recently acquired Visible Image sets; isn't that girl, jumping for joy, absolutely fabulous? She reminds me of my effervescent niece. The sentiment: yes!

A bit of sad news:  our wonderful DT member Yvonne  has left the Inkspirational team . We will miss her *sob* and her beautiful creations. Thank you, Yvonne for inspiration and, especially, your friendship; please, keep in touch!

I went with a pretty straightforward interpretation for my card...with an Altenew camera and Winnie and Walter sentiments...

I can't believe that August is coming to a close; I especially can't believe that the start of a new school year is on the horizon! Not for me, though...one of the perks of being a retired teacher *grin*

Speaking of school...Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #455, where our wonderful Vicki is inspiring us with a school-themed photo. While yours truly is not heading back into the classroom, two little loves-of-my-life are: my niece and nephew, into Grades 3 and 1, respectively.  This growing up stuff is happening way toooo fast!

I decided to make bookmarks for them...and added a snippet of whimsy (or so I hope), in having the books rather precariously stacked, yet capable of balancing a vase of flowers. Just plain old fun...

UNIKO STUDIOS August 2018 New Release~Introducing "Background Builders: Happy Hexagons & Beautiful"

Welcome to Day 2 of the UNIKO STUDIOS August 2018 New Release, where we're introducing two new sets:  Background Builders: Happy Hexagons & Beautiful. 

Geometrics...so trendy right now and this set offers a variety of stylish hexagons that are simply fabulous! I selected the solid double-row of small nexagons and paired it with sentiments from Beautiful.  That swirly font...swoon!

UNIKO STUDIO August 2018 New Release Day 1~Introducing "So Much"

Welcome to UNIKO STUDIO August 2018 New Release Day 1,where we're formally introducing "So Much", a sweet little floral stamp originally a limited edition December 2017 freebie. This gem will be available in the shop beginning Sunday, August 19th.

I double stamped/embossed the pretty clusters, gave them a quick Zigs colouring, added a sentiment using smaller words from Birthday Sentiments and...voila! Simple and, hopefully, something that will generate smiles....

UNIKO STUDIO August 2018 NEW RELEASE Sneak Peeks

Hello!

Hard to believe we're mid-way through August; where has the summer gone? For me, it's been a whirlwind of officiating bike races, traveling back-and-forth from home (near Calgary) to visit my mom, niece and nephew in Edmonton. In a nutshell: simply fabulous! Fortunately, still more races to come; still more opportunities to spend time with my family.  AND, still more days of glorious warm weather!

Speaking of 'fabulous things' - a warm welcome to the UNIKO STUDIO August 2018 NEW RELEASE Sneak Peeks where, yet again, Bev has designed an array of fabulous products that you're guaranteed to LOVE!

This addition to the geometric Background Builders is full of possibilities, especially for those 'sometimes hard to design' guy cards...

Second: a new floral and sentiment set. Only one response: Yes, please!

A new member for the BIG & BOLD sentiments family...

Next, a floral framed set that combines a variety of images from the Flower Power sets. That frame element...so cool!

To round out the peeks: the official release of the "So Much' sweet flowers set that was a freebie back in December. Soooo pretty!

Sweet Birthday Wishes...Inkspirational Challenge #167~Photo Challenge

Please welcome our ever-so-talented Guest Designer, Chrissie, whose card is sure to spark a craving for ice cream (and perhaps a desire to invite the Lawn Fawn reveal wheel dies into your collection. She 'may' have influenced some of my recent shopping ventures....).

My card features a trio of yummy, double scoop ice cream cones from So Suzy Stamps. I must say, these were fun to colour with my Zig markers...

Sooo...I gave this technique a go with my peony from The Ton. Fast watercolouring: yes. Simple - at least for me - not so much. But....I did wind up - eventually - with a somewhat decent version that I'm sharing here. See that blob above the sentiment tag...grrrrr! I did my best to hide it (aka: design innovation), but it was larger than I realized. Oh well...'most' of it worked out...kind of...

Unicorn Wreath Hello...Happy Little Stampers August 2018 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge

We are in the midst of one sweltering heat-fest!  Hopefully we'll see cooler temperatures and perhaps some gentle rain soon because I'm melting!  Yes, I am not a fan of hot weather...uh uh. Nope. No way!

That said, a 'warm' welcome *grin* to Happy Little Stampers August 2018 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge....

For my previous card for Happy Little Stampers CAS Card Challenge~Die Cuts, I shared a cute fox from Concord & 9th's Furry Friends set. This time, I'm sharing a unicorn (which can also be a horse), nestled inside a floral frame. Nothing even remotely original about this, as I drew inspiration from the C9 website. This one will go to my niece to give to one of her friends; she loves unicorns as much as I do!

Ahhh....a beach...sound of the waves, a comfy chair, a good mystery novel, warm sun, gentle breeze...I could go for that right now!

My card is a quirky take on the theme. My Penguins in Paradise set needed a play so, I went in search of 'something different' to spark ideas.  Didn't take long to find it! My card is inspired by Mayuri's card here; her rainbow palm trees...oh my stars! Had to case...simply, completely, totally had to (although we know her's is far-and-away better than mine)....

That little penguin, along with all the other penguin cuties from the set, make me smile!
