Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #449~Trend Week where sweet Bobby, as the hostess for this challenge, has selected *WATERCOLOUR BACKGROUND* to spark your creativity.
If you've come from - or are heading to - the challenge blog, you'll see an array of fabulous cards from our July Guest Designer, ever-so-talented Julia Aston, and my talented teammates: Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa, Maria. Please drop by their places and leave them some love.
Even though I dabble with Zigs (as per our on again/off again relationship), full-on water-colouring is well beyond my skill level. Sooooo...yep, this challenge was a challenge...until I decided to 're-interpret' the prompt a wee bit to be 'colour a water background' *grin* Once that was figured out - and with some added inspiration from Tracey's card - namely, her sweet underwater scene - over at MUSE Challenge #274, I was good to go...in fact, so good to go that I created two cards featuring my Studio Katia Under the Sea critters (that squid, especially, makes me smile!) swimming about...in their 'water' colour surroundings....
This set is too much fun! You'll be seeing another card made with it very very very soon!
Looking forward to seeing your *WATERCOLOUR BACKGROUNDS* in the gallery!

Oh golly, Carol, these are wonderful. I adore your interpretation of watercolor background. Creating a shape was brilliant! Love how you colored your sea life and placed them perfectly in their spaces. The worm on the hook made me smile...poor worm. LOL Hugs!

ReplyDeleteYour "color a water background" is wonderful times 2, Carol, and a perfect showcase for the darling sea creatures.
ReplyDeleteOh how tricky!! Color a water background!!! I LOVE what you did - the color and splotches could be colored water or water colored!!
ReplyDeleteLove both these cards, I also want these critters just trying so hard to rain in the shopping, not doing so well in that. Your colouring of them and the background is wonderful.
