 as our inspiration.  Time starts when you have all your goodies assembled and you're ready to start creating. Let us know how long it took to create your work of art, just for fun.  

Please join us in welcoming our Guest Designer, Deanne Saunders, from Paradise, Newfoundland, Canada! Yayyyy! So thrilling to have a fellow Canadian bringing us fabulous inspiration!

You can well imagine my reaction to a 10 minute time limit. It went like this: EEK! But...after seeing some awesome cards by Justine Hovey and feeling completely justified in ordering some Visible Image sets to give her beauties a try, I was ready to set the timer. Here's my result:

8 minutes, 57 seconds

 

After making the first, I decided to go 'wildandcrazy' and make a second, inspired by AAA Cards Challenge #120~Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  Time on this one: 9 minutes, 5 seconds.

I'm also zipping this one over at Patti's place (Stationery Styles); she wants us to share cards that will give her giggles. Hope this one fits the bill!

Concord & 9th's Retro Petals Turnabout stamp/stencils have been calling for my attention for a few weeks and finally, the stamp set and I had a date! Both cards feature the colour combo - just in different shades. The first uses Lawn Fawn Merman and Your Next Stamp Pink Flamingo;

the second, a softer version in Mama Elephant pigment inks. I LOVE pigment inks!

I can't wait to play with the turnabout stencils next!

Uniko Challenge #48~"It's so much more friendly with two." A.A. Milne (Optional twist: FOR A CHILD)

Welcome to Uniko Studio July/August Challenge #48, where we have this heart-warming quote by A.A. Milne, of Winnie-the-Pooh fame, to inspire you:

"It's so much more friendly with two."

One of my favourites and oh-so-true! Naturally, the idea of 'two' will come to mind, BUT remember: these sweet words come from a childhood (and adulthood *grin*) favourite character, so we're offering the optional twist: FOR A CHILD. Doors of possibility full-on open! Of course, we also have an adorable pair of ladybugs to spark your creativity, too...

We're also thrilled to welcome our marvelous talented, ultra sweet Guest Designer - Trina P, from My Crafting Closet - to the challenge. You will LOVE her card!

Two cards from me (following the quotation to the word *grin*)! First, I played with the optional twist: a card to celebrate a kid's accomplishments in true "Explosion" style! I simply adore these sets! I even 'snuck' in the colours and 'spots' from the photo...

My second card focuses on the 'two' theme: a duo from Pure Florals Rose, coloured with two mediums (ink and prismacolour pencils) and paired with a 'couple' sentiment...

Even though I dabble with Zigs (as per our on again/off again relationship), full-on water-colouring is well beyond my skill level.  Sooooo...yep, this challenge was a challenge...until I decided to 're-interpret' the prompt a wee bit to be 'colour a water background' *grin*  Once that was figured out - and with some added inspiration from Tracey's card - namely, her sweet underwater scene - over at MUSE Challenge #274, I was good to go...in fact, so good to go that I created two cards featuring my Studio Katia Under the Sea critters (that squid, especially, makes me smile!) swimming about...in their 'water' colour surroundings.... 

This set is too much fun! You'll be seeing another card made with it very very very soon!

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers July 2018 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge...and a super warm welcome to some new members on the Design Team!

I've been trying my best to forge a relationship with my zigs; they cooperated 'reasonably well with The Ton peony images that I was so fortunate to win from Colleen, at maplesyrupdesigns.  Plenty  more practice still required to get these markers figured  out but,we're making progress (sometimes...).

Two cards for you today, featuring my new citrus set from Studio Katia.  My zigs and I had yet a few more play dates in getting these coloured. As you can see, I went with 'typical' orange/yellow/green for my first card...

then jazzed things up with a splashy colour combo for the second....

 

Here's the duo...

I *may* be liking my zigs a bit more...but still so much more practice 

required to get the highlights/shadows figured out...Carrying on!
