I 'survived' the first four all-in-a-row days back at work. Whew! Next week is a five-day'er...hope my stamina holds out! *grin* Seriously, the students I've met so far in my little corner of the school (which is a reflection of my little corner of the kitchen counter crafting area) are fantastic. Hope that trend continues..
On this cool fall Saturday (yes, autumn has made a most grand entrance here...), it's time for Inkspirational Challenge #117, where we're sparking your mojo with this sweet (although somewhat sad...) photo. Somebody's missing somebody (as I am missing my husband, who is away at bike races in Eastern Canada, and my niece and nephew, with their always-make-me-laugh shenanigans). ANYWAY, enough tear-inducing talk! The teddy is truly darling, isn't he!
Joining us with this challenge is our fabulous guest designer, Linda; her card will charm you immensely, as will those of my wonderful teamies: Shauna, Sandie, Marina, Pia, Kim
I've had the adorable MFT Birthday Bears for quite some time now, and aside from using one as a polar bear a ways back, they've been sitting idle (coluring issues!). The photo, however, meant they 'had' to come out for a playdate, as did my distress inks. Yep: I water-coloured myself a cutie-pie brown bear, toting a stack of gifts and a sparkly balloon. In my 'story', just beyond the stenciled brick wall is the door to the party he's joining. He'll be belting out "Happy Birthday" with his buddies in no time flat. .As you can gather, I drew inspiration from the bear, the bricks and the colour of the suitcase...and went for a more cheerful mood! My mood after being reasonably successful with the water-colouring was definitely cheerful; in fact, it came pretty close to ecstatic!
'Nuff from me! Turning the stage over to you! Looking forward to seeing your creativity in the gallery!

ReplyDeleteOh sweet Carol, I can definitely see where you'd be missing your family and that inspiration photo would bring it to the forefront. So glad you survived your first week of school. I just completed a 3 day week that felt like a 5 dayer! Pretty intense, huh? But it's the weekend and I might, just might, be able to play a little. Anyway...back to card, Jeanne, sheesh. The card you created sure brought a happy smile to my face. I'm so glad you are getting over your coloring issues, because, quite frankly you are quite the colorist! Your bear bearing gifts and a balloon looks quite fabulous. I can imagine there's a magical party going on behind that brick wall, too. And he's only going to add to the fun. Thank you SO much for sharing and inspiring my sweet talented friend. Have a joyful weekend! Hugs! :)
