Today, my DT and I invite you to Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #205~Photo Inspiration. A pretty background for a powerful message....
As much as I find water-colour lovely, the 'act' of water-colouring continues to elude me. Yes, some 'hits' have come along, but still winding up with too many misses. Learning as I go though, and that's the bonus, even though I have a happy, tummy-filled-to-bursting Mr. Recycle Bin. Again! He is so on a diet!
I decided to take my cue from the inspiration photo's message and *do what I love*, which is die cutting. My background is a series of strips cut from teal-ish paint chip samples, paired with my sentiment from Neat and Tangled, cut three times for dimension, which is hard to see in the photo.. Done! No mess; no fuss; no stress. Happy me! (Hmmm...maybe if I read this sentiment repeatedly, I will conquer my water-colouring issues *grin*)

You are so funny. My best advice is... don't think about it, just do it. If you can fake it, you can make it! Not all of us can watercolor like Karin from Peppermint Patty's Papercrafting, but we can strive. Anyway... I love the bold stripes and that visibly dimensional sentiment. ReplyDeleteOh Carol, I SO know what you mean about watercoloring. I adore the finished look of so many artist's work, but trying to get there myself is such an exercise in frustration sometimes. I know they say practice, practice, practice, but when you have limited time to play to begin with to dedicate a ton of time only to feed Mr. Recycle Bin to the point he needs to go on a diet...where is the fun in that! That said, you might be a little hard on yourself, too! I absolutely adore your take on doing what you love. Beautiful, bold colors that look stunning. Then that lovely pop of white. Gorgeous card!
