Mr. Count's Ghoulish Greetings....My Creative Time Sketch Challenge

Hello,

I'm home (insert very sad face) from my quick trip to see my family, but I'll be heading back Sept. 1st (fingers crossed) to spend an 'extra' long weekend (insert very happy face) with them.  Hopefully, I'll be able to walk Ms. T to her second day of Grade 1 when next I visit.  On Wednesday (three more sleeps), we're traveling west to see my husband's family once again, so between now and then, *someone* has several DT cards to start...and finish!  Of course, I should have been doing that today, but nope!  Challenges to play in!! Assignments will happen tomorrow (says the Queen of Procrastinating *grin*)

My card here was inspired by My Creative Time Sketch Challenge:

I have a significant number of MCT stamps/dies.  Emma's blog - with her fantastic videos, exponential enthusiasm, fabulous products and outstanding service -  was my #1 discovery when I first started in this sport, and she continues to be an incredibly creative - and 'enabling' - influence.  I decided that, for this challenge, my cutie-patootie little mummy and ghost from my previous post needed a companion.

Enter my oh-so-scary, scary Mr. Count vampire, which was a MCT freebie stamp/die from last year.  I paired him with a spider and sentiments from the Too Cute To Spook Stamps and Dies, along with a 'water-coloured' brush strokes background from the Watercolour Background and Script set (couldn't find the link).  The Boo and bat are cut from shimmery black cardstock. Because of the 'glare', I've shared two photos: one so you can see the 'spooky' sheen and one without....

Emma asked that we include a *twist* with this challenge: an embellishment or a 'something' that we haven't used/done in a while.  I have two. The first is painting my vampire with dye inks, which I can't recollect having done ever.  Worked quite well, overall. The second: stamping a greeting inside. The last time I did that....hmmmm...Christmas, I believe.  Happy Halloween and a wee spider: seemed like a good pairing to me...

Felt good to play at my craft counter (aka: kitchen counter) after nearly a week of being away. Next trek to mom's, I'll be sure to pack my mobile crafting unit. As we all know, sometimes Mr. Mojo likes to wander when we don't give him enough play time...

Thanks so much for spending part of your day with me; your visit brings me joy!

  1. Oh gosh, Carol. You did an amazing job on this card. What a fiendish looking little guy and colored so well. I really like those Halloween colored stripes behind him. Yay for decorating inside. I generally forget to do that! I hope you have an awesome day. Big hugs to you! :)

  4. I love the spooky sheen and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the little spider inside your card! Cool color combo too. I'm thinking that I really need to get the 'brush strokes' stamp - so versatile!
