Hello...
Hard to believe how quickly the long weekend passed; soooo much fun with my family visiting. I had some major *sads* when they left yesterday, but Friday will be here soon enough and we'll be heading their direction. Yayyyy....
Today, my marvelous DT and I invite you to play alongside us at Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #195, with this photo as inspiration:
Treat-table temptation! Popcorn, cupcakes, beverages, cake....yum-fest galore!
My card is ultra CAS...mainly because 'someone' left things too late to get a really cool card done! Time management lessons required! Still, after nearly not posting, I decided I would, nudged along by my husband, who thinks the big ol' Memory Box candles with their Stickles flames are rather cool...
Some blue STAMPlorations stars stenciled in the background, a Clearly Besotted sentiment and...tah dah. Another birthday card to add to my sister-in-law's stash for my niece's or nephew's friends. Next time, I need to figure out how to add stripes to the candles along the embossed lines; my white gel pen was being finicky....
I'm so glad you spent time with me today; your visit brings me immense joy!
Love this one Carol, regardless of leaving it too late or not this is a perfect CAS card!
ReplyDeleteHey, isn't this the definition of CAS?? So you can get it done in good time? What a testament to that idea! And you used some cool dies and stencils to boot? I adore how you colored those candles! The flames look amazing. Don't even think you need a finicky white pen! And the background of stars just shows everything off! Well done, my friend! :) Hugs!! And yay for being able to see your sweeties again so soon.
ReplyDeleteLove your take of the colors -- a soft background makes the candles pop or light up ;)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you had a great time with your family and made some great memories...that's always how I feel when visiting with my kids! :) I think this is such a fun photo to take inspiration from and you've done a fabulous job with it!! Love the light star stenciled in the background!! SO FUN!! :) HUGS
ReplyDeleteAt least you got the post done unlike me, lost a day somewhere!
ReplyDeleteThis card just goes to show that necessity is the mother of invention Carol, such a great CAS card. :)

I think your husband is correct, Carol. Those candles look great, especially over that blue star background.

ReplyDeleteI really love this CAS design, Carol! Your candles are fabulous, and your soft stenciling in the background really makes them pop!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you had such a great visit with family...Safe driving, and I hope you have a really fun weekend ~ Hugs, Barb
Love your card, and how the candles pop against the stenciled background :) I got a chuckle out of your post, because too many times, I've been running around trying to get a card done on time, and then not been 100% pleased in the end - and my cheering section steps in :) Gotta love it!
