Hope you're having a fabulous day! We're still on our 'visiting my husband's family' trip, as during our drive up on Friday,we encountered some car issues that are of the 'no choice, leave it here until repaired' variety. Sighhh...Good thing I have the week off; good thing my mother-in-law doesn't mind our 'extended' stay!
Today, my fabulous team-mates and I invite you to join us in Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #181
If you've seen my previous post, you'll know that I'm 'smitten with stencils' and....well, I'm carrying it on here with two cards that were, again, inspired by the fabulous cards and videos by Justine at Justine Hovey.com.
My first card featured a tone-on-tone technique (for some reason I have PTI Berry Sorbet paper and ink...which was a marvelous discovery. The ink, I think, was a gift from a sweet someone at some point...). I brought out my NBUS Memory Box Garden Fronds and W&W Thanks cutaway to create this simple card. After seeing how pretty these fronds are, I have down-the-road ideas for jazzing and snazzing them up.
My second card features STAMPlorations Old Rose stencil, paired with a W&W cutaway. I used a tea coloured distress ink, just for something a little different...
Your turn! Bring your dazzling, delightful Anything Goes cards to the gallery...see you there!

So delighted you spent some time with me today; you visit brings me joy!
You are rocking those stencils! Swooning especially over your second card! Subtle and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMore stenciled loveliness from you! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHope your car gets fixed soon and that your ride home will be uneventful!
2 gorgeous cards, love how you have used your stencils. Xx
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you at TO and fab use of stencil's x
ReplyDeleteLove those stencil backgrounds, the rose one looks so pretty and understated. :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh....so sorry about the car troubles! No fun!! But, hopefully you are enjoying the extended stay with the family. :) Your cards are oh so lovely! How marvelous to discover you had the cardstock and ink to create that first pretty card! You achieve a wonderful crispness and softness in your stenciling. The second card is equally lovely. I like the look with more color in the center and gently fading out. Two real winners here, for sure!! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHope by now your car is well on its way to being mended. That's no fun at all!! But your cards are... Gorgeous fronds, and lovely roses. I'm not surprised at your skill at stenciling, after all, you tamed those chameleon pens in no time, so it follows that you'd master stencils too. Beautiful cards. Love 'em! Enjoy your time away. Bev
ReplyDeleteBugger 'bout the car! Hopefully you were in a place where you were "easy to rescue".
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards! AWESOME inking - love the tone on tone corals - so pretty! 2nd card...just as pretty as the first! Love the wee bits of bling - really cool to capture the reflection/shine in the photo.
Lovely stencilling, Carol ... those tone on tone fronds are such a gorgeous colour ... and the roses ... soft, delicate and so fabulous! Delighted to have you playing along with us at Time Out! Hugs, Anita :)

You're making me want to get out my stencils, Carol! I did in fact just buy Cricket stickey mats to hold them after seeing Betsy Veldman's video. Now I just need to actually make something!

Those berry colored ferns are so subtle and yet bold, Carol, and those roses. They are fabulous in Tea Rose.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are very nice, but the "love" card kills me... It is soft and romantical... Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty flower stencil. Your distressing turned out fabulous. I also adore the font of the love die-cut.
