Back at work for three days and I am SO ready for a holiday. 'Nuff said! Technology...it's going to drive me ca-razy!
Tomorrow is the 'official first day when we gather for a 'meeting with the brass' to pump us up for the year. Coffee, snacks, a couple of hours of spiels. The best part: meeting up with some of my teaching pals...and we'll perform exactly like students, whispering when the superintendent is talking, writing notes (we won't text....promise), being a bit silly. Friday's a repeat of meetings with various departments then in the afternoon...off to visit my family! Yahoooo!
Right now, I'd like to introduce you to one of the newest members of my collection, all pretty in pink, nestled atop some delicate jungle leaves, and posing for CAS(E) this Sketch #137 (I adapted a bit...)
I'm also heading to the galleries at:
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge~Anything Goes
and Simply Create too #92~Anything Goes
We've been living under a dense blanket of smoke since Sunday, due to the wildfires in BC and the US. At least we're safe from the actual flames, so as much as it makes my eyes itch and my throat dry, I consider us blessed. We still have our home...To all who are affected: my thoughts and prayers go out with you.
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Hugs,
I can certainly see why you love this polka dotted winged Flamingo so much...he's amazing! Love how you placed him based on the sketch and your stenciled background is the perfect touch! Another fabulous card, Carol!
ReplyDeleteLovely take on the sketch & so pretty on the stencilled background.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty in pink, Carol ... your sweet polka dot winged flamingo is fabulous against that soft stencilled background! Stay safe, my friend! hugs, Anita :)

Fab CAS card Carol....your flamingo is so beautiful strutting his/her spots in pride, and that great background...all comes together to make a fabulous card.....great design! Glad you are safe at least from the terrible fires...........keep it that way. xx
ReplyDeleteGiggling at your meeting antics, but not at your very, very pretty card, Carol! I can definitely see why you are a fan. I am inspired by all the ways you use your leaf stencil. I'm sorry you are affected by the smoke from the fires, too. We are getting the smoky haze in my neck of the woods as well. :( Hope they can get them out, soon and that Mother Nature gives them a break at some point! Good luck with work! And enjoy that time with your family. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this flamingo, too, Carol! It's one of my very favourite RC stamps! I love how you used it for the sketch -- it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun flamingo and use of the sketch~
ReplyDeleteWe had 2 days of bad smoke, but like you, no flames nearby. It is heartbreaking to watch the news. On a more cheerful note--enjoy your time with family (as if you couldn't!) & your card is totally delightful!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm smitten, too! LOve that jazzy little background you've got there, as well... I've been thinking of you - slaving away - have a great holiday and visit with Mum...

The polka dot wing did it for me! Love the inked background - the leaves totally finish off the tropical look! Yep - Winners Circle!!!

I commented on the second flamingo posting first without knowing your absolute joy at having it in your stock. He is darling and I can see you making more and more fabulous cards with him, Carol.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the sketch and way to showcase that flamingo :)
ReplyDeleteThat flamingo is just so beautiful, hey!!! Love the soft sponging and the B&W strip to have your flamingo really shine!!!! Beautiful, Carol!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSoper, super awesome and SO fun and perky!!!
ReplyDeleteThe fires are frightening, aren't they?! We are just starting to come into our fire season and I confess that is one of the things I realllllly dislike about summer. I have the CFA app on my phone and it seems to buzz all day every day during summer. I'm usually well removed from the trouble zones so when the smoke blankets us it really highlights how bad the situation really is.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so great. I love the black, pink and white look as well. You totally nailed the sketch challenge.
