Happy Monday! I'm still in 'the big city,' visiting my mom, and we are embarking on another week of busy-ness. Hectic, with sprinkles of happy (and tender moments, too...missing Pa...). My pretzel-moves - essential for playing with my niece and nephew - are improving, but oh my! Maybe I need some yoga lessons after all!
Today, I'm delighted and honoured to guest design alongside the fabulous Pink Elephant team once again, with this week's theme challenge: The Pink Elephant Challenge #292
ANYTHING GOES
Once again, 'goes overboard' me has a trio of cards for you, each one featuring a twist and, in the case of cards 2 and 3, some NBUS! Yayyy for NBUS!
My first card was inspired by Uniko Challenge #19~Anything Goes, using the optional sketch
I wasn't 'sure' the butterfly would work, being 'split' with a sentiment, but gave it a whirl...My mom likes it (but she's biased...). Hope you do, as well. Coloured with Chameleons and, in real life, is much brighter.
My next two cards are sprinting to dazzling and delightful Darnell's NBUS #4, as well as,
Card 2: TIME OUT Challenge #27~Clean and Simple, with optional twist, and CAS(E) this Sketch #116 (I was especially smitten with N@Ali's take)
NBUS = the 'gear' butterfly...I think it's cool, but I'm wondering if 'non-gear' colours would
be okay (all about maximizing versatility of this die. It certainly has guy-card potential). Hmm...I guess since it's mine I can do whatever...artistic license, right *grin*
and Card 3 - Freshly Made Sketches #179
NBUS = the CB airplane (another card for my sister-in-law's stash for my
niece and nephew's birthday pals).
The trio...
Please head over (or if you've already been, THANK YOU for coming my way) to see the creativity from
Lori (on break, but she'll be back! Promise!)
I'm looking forward to seeing your "Anything Goes" in The Pink Elephant gallery! C'mon and share with us!
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Hugs,
Oh my, awesome-ness abounds...love everything...congrats on your guestie gig and love love love all the colors. Enjoy the time with the family!
ReplyDeleteVisiting, playing AND you still have the time to make not one fabulous card...but 3!!........that split butterfly?...I agree with your mum......fabulous. Now the gear butterfly...take just the big wing and tilt it and I see a yacht sail? and finally what kid could resist this card for their birthday...fab!! seems like you are on top form girl. Enjoy your week xx
ReplyDeleteThree fabulous creations Carol! I love your butterflies and that cute airplane--fun! So glad you are enjoying the big city, I hope you have a lovely week with your Mom!
ReplyDeleteCarol, these cards are stunners. The sentiment in the centre of the buttefly is inspired and worked out fabulously. The gear butterfly is a gem and with that splash of pink very dramatic. Great to see you at UNiko and TO
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy! Great job times three and the butterfly die on the middle card is just too fun. Love the paint swoosh and bold colour combo. Glad you are enjoying your mom time and I KNOW who special it is for your mom to have you there having been there for my mom in the same situation. I think we need a photo or two of your pretzel moves wink, wink LOL! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSo many fun and awesome ideas in one post! Thanks again for the inspiration at TPE, Carol!
ReplyDeleteFantastic flutterby split by the perfect sentiment, c... that geared one is out of this world... thanks for sharing it with us at CTS....wow you are on a very good roll here at Mom's house... good for you... hugs all around...

Carol, you can crank out some fabulous clean and layered cards!
ReplyDeleteWowzers! Amazing creations :) I am loving the butterfly goodness
ReplyDeleteFab cards, Carol! Love the gears butterfly. Enjoy time with your mum :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards, Carol! Love the great CAS designs! Thanks so much for being our guest over at at The Pink Elephant this month!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards! I'm sure the butterfly would look good in any colour as it's not immediately obvious that they are gears - at least they weren't to me!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are having a fabulous time with your mother, niece and nephew and I can imagine how much it must hurt knowing that your daddy isn't there too. My heart hurts for you my friend and my prayers are with you. Keep his memory alive by remembering him and talking about him. Your cards are amazing as they always are. You are doing so great with those markers!! I love how you have slit the butterfly in half, not sure how you did that, but it looks amazing with the sentiment through the butterfly. I am totally in love with that unique gear butterfly!! I've never seen this before and think it is totally genius! I also love the way you have used it and yes, I think you have total artistic license. lol Your last card is just adorable, I love how you have the mat off to the side of the card, and I love that little scene you have made. The paper you have use is just perfect for a little boy and will be a great addition to the birthday stash for the kids. You are amazing Carol! Sending lots of love and Big hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSimply adorable Miss Carol! I love them all but have to tell you when I scrooled down to your final card I had to do a double take, I was sure it would be another butterfly, but no...you fooled me. This is just too darn cute.
ReplyDeleteA trio of awesomeness! A beautifully colored butterfly, even a gear butterfly (never seen one of those!!!), and a fun airplane card! Very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteYou are a dear, considerate daughter! I felt that tug on the old heart strings when I read how you are missing your dad. It never seems to end but in time the happy memories replace the tugs!
ReplyDeleteThree sa-weet creations! Your creativity is soaring girl! You're like the Duracell Bunny on one heck of a creative roll!
The gear butterfly - eye karumba - it's so cool - especially with the splash of fuchsia pink!
I love the split butterfly - it does a fine job of showcasing a sentiment!
And, I'm thinking that you best start mass producing the airplane card cuz wee nephew is gonna want one of these for each of the parties he will be attending!
I love that gear butterfly....absolutely lovely with the fuchsia!
ReplyDeleteAll you cards are wonderful and so creative! That butterfly is stunning! Don't remember seeing that before!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a 'gear' butterfly before, it's amazing and talk about creative. And yes, you can do whatever you like with it, its all yours!! Love the brushstroke of bright pink and everything else white. Fantastic CAS card and I'm so glad you joined us at TIME OUT!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the cardmaking machine, my friend! I have to say the split butterfly card came out just amazing--LOVE it! Enjoy your family time--my thoughts are with you & a hug for your mom.

So happy that you can spend some time with your mum. It's just good to do that. And bonus that the little ones are there to play with too! Your cards are cool. And I'm with your mom on the first one...it's gorgeous. Butterfly-licious. I like the gear butterfly too, and it could definitely work for a guy; bugs + gears = manly! Your sister in law will surely love the airplane card. It's absolutely adorable. Well done you!! Hope you have a very blessed Easter. Ah...the promise made that morning! Big ol' hugs. Bev

Love the butterflies!! The split one is gorgeous!! And the black butterfly just pops off the page!! The little plane is soooo adorable! Love the layout!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're having fun and finding crafty time at your Mom's, Carol. Your card are wonderful and diverse. I love that bright butterfly and the sentiment split works well with it IMHO. With all the butterflies you have it only makes sense to have one as unique as the gear one. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all - hoping you can feel the hugs and the love that I am sending your way!! I am so glad that you have been having so many good times with your mom, sorry for the sadness that you feel at the loss of your dad!! I understand and my heart is with you!! These cards - oh, my - the butterfly that you split to put your sentiment in - GORGEOUS!!!! And that second butterfly - how fresh and unique and what a beautiful card you have fashioned out of it!! Your little airplane card has the perfect mix of patterned paper and stamping - so well designed and just as delightful as can be!! Love seeing your work - you are quite masterful with the butterflies and your talents and abilities just keep growing!! Say hello to your mom and wish her my best!! And for you, my friend, just know - that even just thinking of you puts a huge smile on my face!!! Happy Easter to you and yours!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Carol, so glad you are enjoying your visit with your family. Hope you are fining peace in remembering your dad. Your cards are so full of beautiful life. The split butterfly is gorgeous. I think if the sentiment were embossed the swirls on the "g" and the "l" might stand out from the lines in that beautiful butterfly. Just my 2 cents. The gear butterfly is so interesting and fabulous. I love the idea of taking the big wing and turning it into a sail! The third card is absolutely adorable. I love the DP and the placement of those adorable die cuts. Your work is always fantastic. Hope you enjoy the rest of your visit.
ReplyDeleteJust delicious - not sure which card I love most - probably the one with the neon strip!
ReplyDeleteThese are FABULOUS! Thanks for playing along with us at Uniko Studio!
