I still have to pack my mobile crafting unit, but I'm zipping in quickly with three cards.
FUSION~Floral Fusion inspired the first two cards
and all three had elements drawn from those shared by designers over at STAMPlorations, where we're invited to play
First is my take on Vicki's card, showcased on STAMPlorations Inspiration Project #7. More work with the Chameleons (and we won't discuss how many tries this took!). I was aiming for one pink flower, but the 'bubble gum' pink in the set was a bit too neon-flashy-ish for me. Shades of purple it is!
My second card was inspired by LauraJane, on Day 1 of the recent ARTplorations Stencils blog hop. A bit more 'wild and crazy' than what you typically see from me, isn't it! The flowers were stenciled/shaded, then I stamped over the petals (which is difficult to see) with one of the floral stamps from Grunge Floral Strips. A Wink of Stella-ing and ta dahhh...In real life, it's sort of pretty in an artsy way....
My third card was inspired by Debra's card at STAMPlorations Inspiration Project #8. Where she has AMAZING embossed on hers, I opted to pair the Trendy Feathers and sentiment with a camouflage spring die cut (I know,..been using that cutaway often, but I love it!). This one is heading to W&W Join in to Win.
My trio, posing...off to Uniko #19~Anything Goes, too...
Time to wrap up packing in readiness for my big drive...
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Hugs,
I'd say you are getting the hang of that Chameleon pens, girl! The flowers look lovely and I love the striped paper you put on the side. Such a stark and elegant accent; I wish I would come up with something like that. Really professional finish! And the last card with the hidden die cut … woah! That just invites gasping and "how did you do that?" comments from the recipient. Totally rocking awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow! Carol....you are blowing these techniques out of the water!!! I love the trio of purple flowers and think that a single pink flower might have distracted from the punch that the 'all purple' creates!
ReplyDeleteI don't see wild & crazy in your second card. All I see is 'crazy amazing'. These ink colors are gorgeous and your stenciling and shading is perfect!
The camo card rocks! Done....nothing more needs to be said!
BTW, after I saw your last camo card, I searched out the technique and played the entire afternoon. Nothing to show for it, but sure had fun experimenting. Thanks for the inspiration dear friend!
Must admit, I wondered when seeing "Carol" in the gallery, if this would be you. Yes, a bit different but I love that your were inspired to go "wild and crazy" (not). Love the feathers with the die cut. And I like your bright photos too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a versatile lady you are!! Three FAB-ulous cards and all so bright and happy. I must admit to not fancying those Chameleon pens...I bet it is harder than they make out...you seem to be mastering them though. xx
ReplyDeletestunning, stunning and stunning. The first card is an awesome design and my fav colour and the Uniko AG entry, loving the use of the die cut...on a creative roll I see! Thanks for joining Uniko x
ReplyDeleteOooooh another trio of loveliness!! These are gorgeous Carol! The stenciled one is particularly lovely and the purple flowers are stunning! I never quite jumped on the feather bandwagon, but yours almost make me wish I had! Very pretty all of them!! Have a safe and wonderful trip! :) (Hugs)
ReplyDeleteAll gorgeous... but the feathers? Really, really tickle my fancy.... just keep using that Spring cut-away, c... I love it!

Three great cards, Carol. I think the flowers are perfect in purple, I can see the artsy touch you gave the stenciled flowers when I zoom in, and the feathers are gorgeous. Safe travels and have a good visit with your Mom.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow! What awesome and beautiful cards Carol. I love each one and couldn't pick a favorite from them. The flowers are just so pretty, I love how you have colored them. I love the bold statement of your second card, the colors are fabulous and I love those flowers too. lol I'm a flower girl. And then there is your third card, the feathers are so awesome, but then you hid your sentiment in them, which is awesome! Oh yes, such beautiful cards for sure. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I like that you step out of your comfort zone and go all crazy. Well, only the cards are not crazy looking, they are beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing! I hope you get all packed up and have safe travels!
ReplyDeleteCarol these are all gorgeous. The coloring on the first is absolutely fantastic. The purple really shows off your skills! Love the stenciled flowers, and the feathers!!!! Fabulous with the spring cutaway! Great idea!!! All beautiful. It's amazing to me that you can create so much gorgeous art in so little time! Have a wonderful trip!!! Travel safely.
ReplyDeleteOh sooo pretty, love your trio of gorgeous inspiration.
ReplyDeleteA trio of total Gorgeous-ness, Carol! Each card is just beautiful in it's own way, but the common thread is all the love you put into each one! Your coloring with your Chameleons on the first card was worth every bit of effort and your stenciling on the 2nd is so soft and lovely! LOVE your camouflage spring die cut on the last one so much...it's perfect with the feathers!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all the wonderful eye candy! Have a safe and wonderful trip ~ Hugs to you!
WOW Carol, you've been busy creating such delightful spring cards!!! I love all three hon. ;) I couldn't pick a fave if my life depended on it (glad my life doesn't depend on it~ha!)
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, Carol--have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous trio!! I love the dimension of the friend sentiment surrounded by the flowers. The bit of black and white stripe adds so much interest. The stenciling is fabulous. I love how you have faded each flower and leaf out at the edges. And those simple feathers lined up in a row - just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so gorgeous, Carol ... brilliant colouring on those lovely daisies, the softness of the sponged blooms is fabulous and the rainbow of feathers with the inset 'spring' ... beautiful! I'm so late coming by ... hope your time with your Mom is going wonderfully, my friend! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards!! Love how bright and colorful these are!! So springy!! Love them!!
