Grateful for You; TIME OUT Challenge #16~CASE Heather Telford with Your Own Twist

Oh look...guess who's back with another 'to the wire' card to post!  A weekend away has obviously disrupted my organization.  Yeesh...but well worth it!  Before I get to the business at hand: to everyone who commented on the fairy cards I made for my niece a while back, assuring me she'd love both: you were right! Those cards where hers, hers and hers!  We gave the cuttlebug a good work out making more fairies...name the colour, and she has one! Such fun!

Yesterday, I took out my distress inks once again, gave them a scribble and a squirt on an acrylic block and smooshed some die cut leaves over top. A few tries later, I was happy (well, happy-ish....), with the results, especially since I was inspired by two designers over at TIME OUT: Challenge #16:  CASE Heather Telford with Your Own Twist. Inspiration #1, of course, was Heather's gorgeous card and Inspiration #2 was Sarah's DT  card.  Using her layout, I arrived at this...(same card, just different angles).  Seeing it again this morning, I'm rather liking it more...

    Happy-ish? Are you joking?! This is beautiful! I love the effect of the inks on the leaves, the composition and the sentiment is perfect - not to mention the colours! Just fab :)

    I am with Sian, this is a stunner and gets in just as the bell rings! I love the combo of the ink colours, so perfect for Autumn! And I am so pleased you were inspired by Sarah's layout. Thanks for taking TIME OUT with us at TIME OUT Challenges x

    Well done getting this gorgeous card done at the last minute, all that pressure worked very well in your favour!! Wow those leaves look fantastic and I love that they aren't completely coloured. Also the colour of the 'you' is a perfect autumn green. So happy you made it just in time to join our TIME OUT challenge!!

    This is beautiful sweetie, we now have leaves on the ground and wind blowing them all over, went to see the rabbit yesterday in his run I should have taken a photo, the leavs where all piled up on one side he was trying to push them away, while the dogs chased them around the garden so cute, love this time of a year hugs Pops x x x

    Awww, of course your niece loved your fairy cards Carol! You are her favorite auntie and you create with her. How much fun is that to a little one?!!! And what beautiful memories you are making for these sweet little ones, ones that they will never forget. Can't get any better than that my friend. Now I am so loving this card!!! I love how you did you leaves and must give this a try. Only problem is that I don't have the distress markers. One day though, one day. lol So I will have to give it a try with the inks instead.     may I tell you Carol your leaves really looks like a real one...how can you made it..it is perfect and nice CAS design you made...I wish one day you can show step by step to make your real leaves or make a video Carol...I want to hear your voice and see your proccess..Love your card my friend..hugs, Monika

    I feel like slapping my hand against my forehead! Of course, why didn't I ever think of leaving some white space on my distressed leaves? In addition to the crisp sentiment, the huge amount of white space, and the subtle colors the leaves just pop right off the page! Oh, wait! They *do* pop right off the page :-) looking at your card I'm reminded of the beautiful nature all around me right now. The leaves have turned yellow and red and they're just falling off the trees right now. And I feel like a little kid every time I pass by such a heap of leaves – I just can't help but jump right into them :-)
