Leaf Trio Thank You...Just Us Girls #257, CASology #112~Three, NBUS #2

Hello,

Whoa, but I am all over the place with my disorganization! I was supposed to work at the high school in Banff today, but no way was I venturing out in the freaky-deaky snow storm, especially given my winter-tireless car.  Too scary...so I just worked in my usual school, and did my best to cope with the new data system that is so not cooperating as expected.  Not only is that one causing grief, but the another one I need to access has undergone a revamp...and for our purposes (rather essential ones, at that), it, too, is dysfunctional.  People are working hard behind the scenes to remedy the glitches and warts, so I'm applauding their perseverance.  Yes, the joys of technology...

Once home, I tried valiantly to create some 'fancy' distress ink leaves for an 'envisioned' card...alas, a fruitless effort.  Vision readjusted, I turned to some of my new goodies: leaf dies, the "I'm still drooling over" Joy glimmer paper (cuts dies like a charm!!), and my Impression Obsession fancy cutout.  My challenge goals:

Just Us Girls #257~Leaves

and, of course, the amazing, delightful, entertaining, awesome Darnell's NBUS #2

A pretty straightforward, basic card, but oh, how those leaves shimmer in real life....

Once I get my act together, I'll share my shopping expedition, because hokey smokes, what a treasure I've found!!

Here's a couple photos of our wintry wonderland (wonder being the operative term!!)

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!

  10. I'm so not ready for snow this year. The cold I don't mind, but snow...not so much. Don't blame you for not driving without the proper tires! Gorgeous card. Perfect placement of that sentiment! The leaves are beautiful, and I'm loving that IO die! Hmmmm...now you've enabled me, and I'm going to have to check those dies out...ok, ok, check them out and load my cart! Sweet card! Lovin' this one! Bev

  11. So, first of all: SNOW?!?! So. Very. Jealous! Yeah, yeah, I know. You would probably be happy if you had less, but lemme tell ya: we middle Europeans lucked out on winter in the past two years. Last year, we only had one single day when it snowed here in Stuttgart and I was SUPER sad. I love snow (just not when flying) so I wish I was where you are.

Second: Banff! Been there. Loved it. Want to come back. You Canadians are blessed with some of the most beautiful places in the world. I was there in 1995, and since then, the only place that compares even in the slightest was Norway. Just love the mountains, the water, the nature. And snow.

Third: Holy smokes, your cards are killing it! And I keep drooling on my keyboard (do you know how expensive these are?!). Now I'm off to try to figure out where these papers are to find in Germany or Europe…

Your autumn card is so pretty, Carol! I love everything about it!! Thank you so much for playing in my second NBUS Challenge!! I can't wait to hear about your shopping expedition!! Hugs, Darnell

Hopefully all the snow will be gone by the weekend. I'm taking my mom to Canmore/Banff for a few days next week and we don't want any snow!

  16. I saw where you guys, Montana and Alaska were getting snow Carol! Just keep it ok?!! I don't want it sent my way!! lol I'm afraid that none of us get a choice with the weather, but I sure don't want to see any snow this early in the season. I still want to stay in summer maybe because I don't feel like summer ever really came. Make sure to get those snow tires on your car too! Oh yes, technology is wonderful....when it works right. lol I hope things get better soon for you all. I love, love your card Carol! Beautiful leaves-gosh I so love these leaf dies you got!! 20. Hey there stranger! We are finally finished our wee house flipping adventure...which translates to "yay, I finally can spend some time in my craft room!!! Now, all we need is for someone to buy the house!

You have been a busy, busy girl....craftin' up some AMAZING cards! Your work is awesome, with every card aglow with flawless design and meticulous attention to detail....like this stunning falling leaf creation. I love, love, love where you placed the sentiment - it seems to draw the eye down in the same way as a falling leaf would.

You're rocking this craft dear friend!

Might be headed out your way next month. Coffee???

  26. Love your rainbow colored maple leaves Carol ... so pretty! And so is the beautiful fancy border die-cut. Wow ... you have a LOT of snow! :) No wonder you wanted to stick close to home. Luckily we are having lovely summer weather in B.C. ... I think it was up to 21 degrees today ... and dry. But you know us Westcoaster's weather, wait a few minutes and it will be rain :) ... rain is coming next week and we could use it ... every thing is bone dry. Loll xx

  33. Just reading about your technology woes give me a headache!! I have no patience for those technical failure events!! Made worse by having to phone freaky-deaky Ottawa to have the simplest (you'd think) problem solved and then having to wait half an hour on hold, get passed around to three different people, probably hung up on at some point, and zippo solution! Grrrrrr, I feel you pain!!
Onto a much happier note, what an absolutely beautiful card this is! The leaf dies have bowled me over again, as has the paper. The decorative die is a stunner as well. What's not to "fall" in love with?!!
Those winter wonderland photos though...OMG!!!!!! How? Why? Whaaaatt???!!! That.is.CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
