Just over a week ago, I received my first ever Stampin' Up order...some inks, some cardstock...some happy!! (Dough-head confession though: I had to watch a video to figure out how to open the ink pads. Pathetic me....then again the fact that such videos exist must mean I'm in good company!).
A few days later, some new speech bubble dies arrived.
New cardstock + new speech bubbles = a card for two challenges:
ColourQ #246
and
My new SU cardstock is really x really close to the ColourQ palette, so while I perhaps should have opened up the inks (now that I know how *grin*), and played with them, those speech bubbles were insistent for a debut...
I just heard the "Are you ready?" from my husband...guess I"m going for a bike ride after all. Yikes - haven't been in my bike in ages...As long as we don't do hills, I might be okay. Might.
NOTE: Happy dancing with delight and honour for being selected as a ColourQ Courtier. THANK YOU!!
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments make my day!
You are so funny! Once you get the hang of the ink pads, you'll love that they do this; automatically store the inks upside down, but you can still see the color! Great card, Carol. Love those little speech bubbles all layered, and boy!, do they pop against the kraft. Very cool. Hope the bike ride went well without any hills! Bev
ReplyDeleteLove the word bubbles and how you used the colours. SU has great ink pads - love them! - and great papers too. Your card is a perfect fit for the NBUS challenge - have to use something you have never used before and have a friendship theme. ReplyDeleteStampin' up is what caused my addiction to stamps, paper and all things pretty:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun card, love those speech bubbles!
What a cool cluster of speech bubbles, Carol ... looks as though there might just be a full blown crafty conversation going on here! I must be the only person in the blogosphere now that doesn't have any SU stuff ... seems I'm missing out ... wish book to the ready! Hope you're still comfortable after that bike ride!! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun card & wonderful use of the color combo, Carol! My only exercise right now is trying to tire out puppy Fritz with multiple walks per day! If only it'd reduce some of my measurements--LOL!
ReplyDeleteSuper fun card!!!
ReplyDeleteThe word bubbles are so cool! And a ton of fun!!! And you know I love the wee little hearts!!! Those little guys get me all the time!
ReplyDeleteOh and don't be hard on yourself on the su ink pads - you practically need a phd in rocket science to open them!!! Hope the bike ride went well too :)
What a cute card using the word bubbles, Carol! thanks for joining in the fun at the colourQ.
ReplyDeleteYou are not the first who has struggled with opening the inks - just wait until the first time the lid comes off. It's a real brain teaser to figure out how it is all supposed to work and getting it back on! Your row of speech bubbles is truly charming - the teeny little hearts are SO cute!
ReplyDeleteCount me in that group of container opening challenged crafters! In fact, I likely could be the president of such a club!
ReplyDeleteANOTHER fabulous mix of colors and fun, fun, fun design! Your talent has blossomed before our very eyes! One amazing creation after another! You've definitely found your crafting groove! And it is one heck of an awesome groove!!!

Carol...you crack me up! But I have to be honest with you, I have not watched the video on how to open the SU ink pads but I still struggle with them when ever I attempt to open one up. I love their ink and card stock and how exciting that you have more new goodies to play with. Can't wait to see more, lots and lots more! Hope you had a wonderful bike ride too, couldn't tell you the last time I was on a bike. Have a wonderful day!
