I'm waiting for my husband to come home so we can zip outside for a walk (me) and bike ride (him), together. I know that sounds silly, but when I get into 'power walk' mode, he can't keep up walking, and when I ride my bike, I can't keep up with him, riding. The 'compromise' is that a couple times a week (we try), I walk and he rides alongside on his mountain bike. Sometimes I try to jog...hahahahaha...dang uphills get me every time; although I do manage kinda-sorta okay on the downhills. And yes, people do give us strange looks. Oh well, 'togetherness' and all that jazz, right. Other evenings, he goes for his long- haul bike rides and I long-haul craft. Balance...
Before I put on my running shoes (they are soooo tame compared to the vibrant pair below. Maybe if I wore those I'd be faster...), I'll share my card for the challenges over at CAS(E) this Sketch #76 (such awesome entries!!)
My colours aren't exactly those on this lovely palette, but I replicated as best I could, with pink and turquoise butterflies (yes...more butterflies..and *maybe* new ones arrived yesterday. Excited to give them a play), a white 'frame', and a yellow and green stamped background.
Since butterfly stamps and dies are my 'current' favourite products, I'm also linking to Paper Crafting Challenge #10: My Favourites
Pose 1
Pose 2...
Door's opening, so I'd best get ready...

The butterflies, the awesome burlap patterned background, the frame and the CASiliciousness of it all! Sure it's a word. LOL. Great job, Carol! :-)

ReplyDeleteLove your card, Carol, the images are wonderful, so is your design! I especially love the cheese cloth look in the background! Thanks for playing with us at the colourQ.
ReplyDeleteI really love that background stamp, have I told you that before...and have you told me where it is from? It provides a great grounding for the stunning butterflies. Hope you walk was fun x
ReplyDeleteI think you can get away with those colours! The stamped background looks gorgeous as a backdrop for the butterflies. Thanks for playing along at Colour Q!
ReplyDeleteOoooooh you do the most amazing things with butterflies and these are no exception!! What a beautiful card! Love that little stitched frame in the background. I'm trying to figure out if you created that someway or if it's a die?? I walk every evening with my hubby too. He walks and I walk too, but he walks so much faster than I do, and I'm always huffing and puffing to keep up with him. I have short legs and we have lots of hills around here! heheh! ((Hugs and happy weekend!))
ReplyDeleteCarol I think your couples time is so awesome!! We walk and used to ride together but I have trouble keeping up with biking now. he wants me to get an electric bike so that I have back up when Ii run out of steam--but I don't know, seems strange. Anyway on to your gorgeous card, love your new butterflies and pretty colouring!!
ReplyDeletewooowww I think you have EYE to combine the color combo challenge, me not Carol LOL..
ReplyDeleteFirst I love the butterfly with that colors and the way you put the frame its clever using that sketch...that sketch I find difficult cause I must put the ellement on the top of the main Image...I dont like to put much element on my card....your card is clever using that sketch..another lovely card dear Carol...now it is 21:42 I will close my Laptop and go to bed...was in May party at my son school he dance with another girl on his school with all boys and girl it was fun but it made me tired to smile to all mom and dad from the school...and a bit chat with the mom and dad...now I go to bed...happy Friday Carol...
You and those darn butterflies!! Just gorgeous!! Love the layout and the little bit of background!! Very NICE!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne amazing card after the next!!! Seriously!!! Totally crushing on this one too!! I LOVE how the CTS design inspired you to create those frames and love even more how you pulled those zany colours from the runners and made them look pretty and sophisticated!!!
ReplyDeleteWTG on the exercise!!! I think it's just awesome that you've found a way to do it with your hubby (and I think it's pretty adorable too!!!)
