Before I tackle my *ahem* chores, a quick post to share two cards. I have a full-on butterfly
Both were inspired by the colours from the pretty photo over at Curtain Call: Farm Fresh
My first card is also heading to Clean and Simple #285
My photograph doesn't capture it well, but I used Wink of Stella on my butterfly's wings.
The companion card is off to STAMPlorations: Stamp and Spring challenge.
I also 'loosely' followed their Sketch #8 challenge,
but won't enter it there, because it's a bit toooo abstract from the layout. Guess I'll *need* to make another for that one....(ETA: I decided to enter after all; Geri's comment convinced me ~ Thank you, my dear friend....)
NOTE: So honoured and delighted that my STAMPlorations card was selected as a Top Pick. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments make my day!
Carol your butterfly cards are so pretty, Wink of Stella avoids the camera but I can see it! Just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing with us at the Curtain Call for the Farm Fresh challenge!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you have been on a roll and made lots of fabulous cards! From the adorable baby cards to the sweet umbrella card and now those fun butterfly cards! I can never get enough of butterflies! So keep going and keep ignoring the stern look of your vacuum!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flutterbies! Love your rainbow Monarch, and the "darned" looking stamp under your red and blue twins. Two more wonderful cards, Carol. Skip the chores, just keep crafting and posting more of these beauties! hugs. Bev
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Beautifful colors and fabulously awesome designs! I love the 'background' images that you created ... the row of butterflies on the first card and the awesome 'burlap thread (?) stamp on the second card. Tons of glorious white space, a nice bit of sparkle and whole lot of WOW!
ReplyDeleteYou ABSOLUTELY have to enter the Stamplorations challenge...your card is the perfect fit and without a doubt captures the sketch elements!!
Ooooh it must be spring somewhere with all these lovely butterflies! Both of your cards are just beautiful Carol! Love that burlap stamp for the background! Superb work!! :)
ReplyDeleteCarol these are just so fabulous, that coloured butterflies is stunning and I agree with Geri and am glad you entered our challenge at STAMPlorations. And that background on the second card I love. I keep meaning to try something like this but want to make it a more masculine card-what is the stamp you used?
ReplyDeleteCarol, both cards are simply beautiful! I've got a a butterfly (and flower) obsession, err..fascination..myself (it's one or the other or both in my cards lately!) so I say keep at it if that's what makes you happy -- many of us sure love seeing your cards! As for the second card being too abstract -- I don't think so! I tend to take some liberties with sketches, but I can definitely see the elements of the sketch in your second card! I love how you made it completely your own and so CAS too! Thanks so much for playing with us at STAMPlorations! Love having you there :o)

Gorgeous cards!!! I think second is an awesome card for the sketch! And i just LOVE the first butterfly!! Its beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so loving both cards Carol! And I love butterflies as well. I think a sketch is just a jumping off point and think you should enter your card too. You don't have to match the sketch exact. And you card is just to pretty not to enter it! Hugs
ReplyDeleteHoly wowza these are gorgeous, Carol!! Like gorgeous beyond measure!!! Love the sweet butterflies fluttering in the background of the first card, and just look at that sparkle from the WOS - I can totally see it and I LOVE it!!! And I can't believe you hesitated for even just one nanosecond to enter the second card - it is PERFECT for the sketch!!! You totally thought outside the box, and that is creativity at its best!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...what a pair of amazing cards Carol! I am not a real butterfly person but after seeing your gorgeous creations you may have changed my mind, there are simply stunning my friend. And I can see the wink of Stella on your first one too, looks so pretty! Have a wonderful week.
