It's been quiet on my blog, but behind the scenes, I've been Advent Calendar plotting and scheming. Today, though, I've taken a mojo break to play with some challenges, with this week's Unscripted Sketches #230
first up on the agenda. Several times during the week, I fumbled around with images and such, going nowhere, until a wee glimmer of an idea took hold...Since Mr. Linky will be closing soon, I'll save my chatter for later in the weekend, and set you merrily on your 'gazing' way. (side note: the space bar on my laptop is sticking. Driving. Me. Crazy!! See what I mean...too many spaces orwordsstucktogether. Gahhhh!)
I'm practicing my "cas" skills, or rather, I'm practicing to *gain* cas skills...
My card's heading to Unscripted, of course, as well as to Festive Friday #21, with its red-white-aqua palette,
and CASology #70, where the cue card is
Again, the 'daylight' is pretty much non-existant here, so apologies for the colours!
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments make my day!

ReplyDeleteIngenious use of the sketch, Carol! Love your card!
ReplyDeleteThese are such gorgeous snowflakes, Carol ... perfectly placed to frame that delicious stitch-matted tree ... BTW, CAS skills are definitely already well in place! Looking forward to seeing the Advent calenders when they're done ... Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWow!! This is so BEAUTIFUL!! Simple, but BEAUTIFUL!! I LOVE your take on the sketch too!! THANKS for much for sharing and have a Fabulous Weekend!! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your wonderful snowflake card!
ReplyDeleteLove your triangularly shaped Christmas Tree! I'm going to make that word a word by simply using it all the time! Haha! So glad you joined us at CASology again this week!
ReplyDeleteOh I can NOT wait to see the advent calendars!!! But in the meantime, man oh man, I LOVE this! Those snowflakes are GORGEOUS. I love them in the metallic. The design is perfect - with the edge of the larger snowflake lightly tapping on the image panel - happy sigh!!! Another beauty, Carol!!!
ReplyDelete...guess that I'm not the only one anxiously awaiting the unveiling of the calendars! Know why? Cuz we ALL know that they will be out-of-this-world amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteJust like this card! The way I see it is that you have your clean and simple skills down pat! This card is a fine, fine example of that. Stamping your tree on the stitched mat and popping it up, totally makes it the focal point of your card. The beautiful snowflakes draw your eye to the tree and create movement on your card....just like real falling snowflakes (but try not to think of 3 feet of snow because that would totally kill the 'soft' part of my story!)
Simply beautiful! Hugs Bev x
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely clean design - love the delicate snowflakes and the word-tree is lovely! Thanks for joining us at Festive Friday!
ReplyDeleteThis so totally and completely works for the sketch!! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely Carol! I love those snowflakes (you knew that), and I think this is perfectly CAS! Thanks for playing with FF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
