Penguins and Polka-dots...TAWS BE Inspired #41

Hello,
Wednesday, already, and once again I've fallen behind-the-times in posting. Perhaps one of my New Year's resolution should be: make card. Post. Immediately.  It's a thought...

As is obvious, I'm on the Christmas card only diet for the next while. Sticking with it, because, venturing off right about now would have me a) fretting over not giving my Christmas stash items enough play-time before Dec. 26 comes around and b) experiencing a rapid onset of, as Darnell coined so well in her post today, splitzophrenia.  We (See, the signs are already visible!!) I don't want Mr. Mojo becoming Mr. Nojo...or Mr. WhattheheckJo anytime soon, so Christmas it is.

Inevitably, over the next while, I'll decide to enter challenges that are not 'necessarily' Christmas-themed, because that's how I'm wired. I could just by-pass said challenges, but noooooo...sometimes the opportunity  for mental gymnastics just needs to be heeded.  And so goes my entry for TAWS BE Inspired #41, with this lovely image of polka-dot dishes which, by the way, would be more than welcome in my kitchen cabinets. More. Than. (Ours...not so pretty. Functional. Not pretty.  They were my husband's from his *BC* (before Carol) days.  I think he likes them.. 'Nuff said. Guess what's on my Christmas list. Yep).

I have several TAWS stamps sets, because they are so darn adorable, however, only one set is Christmas-y: No Peeking. So, I paired up a TAWS image with a bunch o'dots...and here's my card.

Isn't this penguin a cutie?  I popped him on a cardstock circle, jazzed up his heart with stickles, nestled him among some polka-dotted Bo Bunny paper and embossed his little 'no peeking' bubble.  Hope my 'take' did him justice, because he really is a sweetie!

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments make my day!

  2. Awwwwww, that penguin is over the top sweet! Especially with that dab of stickles on his heart - that alone ups the awwwwww factor times a million! Love the funky look of this too, and the little speech bubble is the most perfect finishing touch! I will be sending a little note to Santa for you to bring you new dishes!! I know all too well about combining households and having to put up with some uglies!!!

  6. Your 'take' definitely has showcased Mr. Penguin in a fine, fine way! Handsome wee dude, ins't he? Nice little touches like the his jazzed up heart and the embossed sentiment!

Another awesome display of your talent dear friend! When I look at your cards I am always in awe of your 'mixie-matchie' ability (that sounds quite like a technical crafting term, ya think?).

You really do need to apply for the next DT call to TAWS because you always ROCK their stamps!
