I'll also be officiating at a cyclo-cross race on Saturday; my husband has just returned from a three day epic bike trip, so he won't be officiating at all, but plans to race on Sunday, energy-level depending. A belated birthday celebration for my mom is on for Saturday evening. Ms. T has a 'surprise party' totally planned (even though it's at my parents' place...): she and I are in charge of the cake (she's going to teach me how to use sprinkles), and everyone else - Mr. C, her mom and dad, Grammy and Grampy, Poppa (my dad) and Uncle Andy (my sister and bil are on holidays) are in charge of balloons. Of course they are! If Bacia (my mom) happens to 'see' us getting things ready, we're supposed to run, hide (not sure where, although behind the drapes might work...), then jump out and shout "SURPRISE!!"
Sounds like an easy-to-excute plan to me...I'll be sure to zip away from the bike race as soon possible, so as not to miss my cake-decorating tutoring.
In the midst of giddy excitement, I've made a card using some NBUS: Merry Dots, by Memory Box and my first EVER My Favourite Things (sorry...Favorites is spelled wrong...must upkeep my Canadian spelling *grin*) die-namics die, Dispersed Dots. Headed down the Christmas card route, creating a card for Merry Monday#127~Bingo Game, using the first column of 'sparkle, die cut and red',
"Mental gymnastics" required for the tag; I'm sure an easier way exists! The red is my shimmery Joy paper, as is the grey of the snowflakes and background dots; hard to photograph, but in real life, it glimmers prettily.
Since no stamps were used, I'm heading off to Keep it Simple #49~No Stamps
I'm also joining Marina's My Perfect Life Festive 48-Week 37 blog...so far I have three Christmas cards as compared to her 37! Better get crackin'...
Off to do some packing...
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day.

Seriously Carol this is awesome! Love all the die cuts you used!! The surprise party sounds so fun, but not as fun as the sneaking around! Enjoy your family! Happy Birthday to your Mom! I have given up with trying to spell in American, can't help it, my Canadian spelling prevails! xoxo
Oooh family time, and birthday parties - fun times for you, Aunty C! :) I can't help type "Favourites" too. I sometimes remember to remove "u" but it is difficult. :) Your card, and the tag part of it in particular, is AMAZING! The gorgeous colour too - swoon! :)

Wow, sounds like a very busy weekend for your Carol! I know you are in your glory when it comes to your niece and nephew-so glad you are getting some family time in. Good luck with the party prep without your mother finding out-that's a hard one I think but I know you all will pull it off without her knowing about it. Your card just stuns me speechless! I love, love it. That tag is amazing and I have no clue how you even went about making it to offfer a better way-heck don't think I could even CASE it. lol Love those snowflakes and love the shimmer of the silver papers. Just beautiful my friend! Enjoy your awesome weekend and I'm glad your bosses gave you both off to do just that! Hugs, Brenda

Well, at this rate, you may not have many cards to give out this year , but the ones you will give will be stunning! I LOVE the punching on here- so clever, especially the two-colour reffect on the sentiment.
Thanks a lot for joining in with my Festive 48. Hope you can link up again next week. Marina http://myperfectlifeuk.blogspot.co.uk
Very cool effect!
This is gorgeous....what a cool effect you've created with your tag! Thanks for playing with us this week at the Merry Monday challenge!
Wow...what a card! I love the tag and what you did. You are so talented and this is so festive. The red and white are so dramatic and the snowflakes, the perfect touch.
Gorgeous CAS design, love it! Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday.
First: your card is A W E S O M E! I mean, holy smokes! Don't you know any decency, girl? Don't machete rest of us feel so … uncrafty by displaying your skillz so unabashedly (is that even a word?).
Anyhow, wow. Just, wow.
Second: I really should stop drinking anything while reading your blog post. I can just imagine you guys running around like chicken with your mom approaching and hiding behind the drapes, your feet sticking out, hoping like kids that if you can't see them, they can't see you. Oh, the giggles you give me… :)
I love this very clever and unique design! Great card! Thank you for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
WOW! Your tag is amazing, and the color combo on this card is 'to die for'!!! I may have to get that MFT dotted die after seeing how fabulous it looks here! Love all the sparkle, too!
I'm guessing by now you're home from your trip...probably exhausted, too! Hope you had a great time kiddo!
LOVE this wonderful card, Carol! Enjoy your family time--as if anything else is possible--LOL!
GOR. GEE. US.
Awwww, belated happy birthday wishes to your Mama!!! Can't wait to hear all about the surprise party! Seriously, Miss T could not be more adorable!! And the card - totally amazing! I'm in love with how you created the two tone tag - absolutely fabulous! Extra love the punched holes die and how they coordinate so perfectly with the letters in MERRY! Hope you had an awesome time with the fam...I know you did!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous card!!! Thanks for playing at KIS!!
LOVE this! Love the dots both in the background and the merry. Love that the whole focus is on the fun dots since the colors are just the festive red and white!
