Hello,
Welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #116, where Julie B invites us to play with hues of Red and Blue for the next two weeks. This combination offers a plethora of possibilities!
We're delighted to have Leslie joining us as our Guest Designer for this challenge.
Maybe it's just me, but as I look around the craft universe, I'm running across a wide range of paper collections - patterned papers, ephemera, stickers, rub-ons, kits. Be it a fad or something long-standing that has caught my eye, I'm intrigued and, as often I do, I'm diving right in. I'm keen to embrace my paper phase!
Today's card features a Spellbinders paper collection I won as a gift a year or so ago. I wasn't keen to play with it at the time...but then the patterned paper bug struck. Here's my first card, 100% inspired by one I spotted on the SB site. I liked it, so I more or less cased it, right down to the addition of the wax seal.

Please head over to the Colour Hues blog to see fabulous Red and Blue inspiration from Leslie and my talented team.
Looking forward to your takes on this combination.
What a cool card ... I love all of the different elements and dimension.
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful that you're embracing your patterned paper. Many years ago I was all about making my own backgrounds. Still do that, too, but, ohhhh, how I love my papers! Your grid pattern is a great way to use these smaller elements with the papers and colors to make such a delightful Christmas card! It looks like such fun! I'm so happy to be guesting with Color Hues for this challenge!
ReplyDeleteLooking great in your pattern paper era, Carol! Lovely card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I'd say that's going to be a good prize after all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great layout for those little images and a great way to use patterned paper! I love the addition of the wax seal!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's a mighty fine and very fun CASE! I'm not much of a patterned paper person any more, but I love in small doses, and this is wonderful! Love that banner, too.
ReplyDeleteI love patterned paper (and have vast amounts...like enough to last 5 or 6 lifetimes!!) in small amounts, and you have used your small bits so perfectly on this beautiful Christmas card Carol!! Love, LOVE the addition of the wax seal too! A lovely, lovely red & blue Christmas card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteA fab take on the colours AND it inspired you to use your stash too. I love my pattern papers, boxes of the stuff never mind the digi versions, but there is never the one you want!! :)
