Inkspirational Challenge #194~Photo Challenge...HUGS

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #194, where we have this groovy stylized *R* to inspired you. Polka dots, funky flowers, neon, squiggles, circles, stripes...an art deco of possibilities!

And given all those possibilities...here's where I went *grin*  Obviously influenced by the dots (Studio Katia), black/white (which, to me, looked 'zebra' - Paper Smooches for that cutie as well as the sentiment) and vibrant colours (MFT polaroid frame).

Just Us Girls Challenge #502~Photo Week...Mini Card Floral Thanks

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #502~Photo Week, where our talented Bobby has selected this gorgeous image to inspire us.

All those beautiful flowers inspired me, particularly the pretty roses on the white china. I have a teacup/saucer very much like it...a treasured heirloom from my Grandma on my dad's side. In fact, I have a variety of cups/saucers that she collected over the years...and when we were kids, she served cocoa in them for us. Spoiled? Oh, definitely! (Along with the cocoa came toast fingers - toast cut into strips, covered with honeybee syrup - a couple potato chips and three cheezies. Best. Breakfasts. Ever!)

I used the absolutely darling Scalloped Notecard dies from The Stamp Market, paired with gorgeous papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, to make my mini cards (3 X 4). Thanks, Welcome, Congrats and Friend dies are also part of the set. Perfect to make quick pretties!

Uniko Studio Design Team Blog Hop~Big & Bold: WISH

Welcome to the Uniko Studio Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway, which is what we gals do on non-release months!  As always, Bev has set us with the task of using some Uniko oldies AND goodies to showcase; this time we're revisiting Big & Bold: WISH stamps and dies.

  

Since I love the saying Wish Upon A Star (which I do often), I paired the featured products with Background Builders: Seeing Stars

I was striving for a galaxy/starry appearance on my card, using an alcohol ink piece as the focal point.  As I've mentioned before, I'm a new-comer to alcohol inks, so enjoying experimenting with my 5 colour collection...

Uniko Studio Design Team Inspiration...Zoo Fun Cards for Kids

Welcome to my Uniko Studio DT showcase, where I bring out a few Uniko favourites for a play date.

Today's trio of cards was inspired by my brother's family's recent visit. I had a blast spending 24/7 with my niece and nephew for a few days...and part of our wonderful time together included a trip to the Calgary Zoo.

Zoo + kiddos = incentive to create cards *for* said kiddos! I'll include a few photos of the zoo/our place with the cards; hopefully, they'll know that Aunty c is WILD about them! As for Mr. Zebra...he'll be my card for my brother, whose birthday is coming up quickly.

I brought Doodlebug stickers into the scenes because a) they're adorable and b) they pair wonderfully with Uniko's animal prints/tropical line. Lots more of those in my collection, so you may see more of this combination down the road.

Inkspirational Challenge #193~Designer's Choice...Disney Albums (Simple Stories: Say Cheese)

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #193~Designer's Choice, where Pia has selected a Travel-theme for our cards/projects. Perfect for this time of year!

My brother's family spent a few days with us last weekend (finally!) and oh my stars! How absolutely wonderful to have 24/7 time with my niece and nephew! A trip to the Calgary Zoo,  homemade pasta making (my husband navigated that adventure), oodles of playing/walking with Lily, our puppy...just all-around happy hanging out time!

Now, for my travel project...

A couple months back, I made a first ever 'fancy' album - Simple Stories Say Cheese Disney, as a 'first step' to eventually scrapbooking my brother's family's two years' ago trip to Disneyland - thanks to a class conducted by Karla Yungwirth, one of the designers from ScrapShotz - my close-to-home/go-to retailer). Making one easily convinced me I *had* to buy two more for a 'sometime' craft-a-thon with the kiddos...so I did and kept them at our place waiting for the perfect time.

Said event happened last weekend...and oh, what a blast! My niece created her album all on her own (we followed kit instructions, of course), while my nephew's was a combination of his, my sister-in-law's and my contributions. Yes, assembling took a while (we worked betwixt and between several other activities), but they each went home with an album and a smattering of photos I had printed for them.  We had loads of fun...and used loads of foam tape *grin*

So...here's a photo-heavy showcase of several of the pages from their albums. Love this...and more than that, LOVE that we created it together!

Looking forward to adding their travel photos to my album and then, at some point, embarking on a 'real' scrapbook album adventure. I have the papers and photos...now to figure it all out. On the 'do' list!

I recently added this fabulous Circles Cover Plate die from The Stamp Market to my collection and oh my stars! So much fun...and a great way to use up bits and pieces of patterned paper (there is a stamp set to go along with it, which is on my wish list). Papers are from Lawn Fawn and the big ol' *Hey* is also from The Stamp Market. Next on the list: Christmas versions. Ideas percolating!
