Hello,
Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #453~Trend Week, where our sweet hostess, Sue, has selected "Fast Watercolours" as our inspiration. Fast watercolouring, you ask? Check it out here:
If you've come from - or are heading to - the challenge blog, you'll see an array of fabulous cards from Ros Crawford, who we are thrilled to welcome as our August guest designer, and my talented teammates: Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa, Maria. Please drop by their places and leave them some love.
Sooo...I gave this technique a go with my peony from The Ton. Fast watercolouring: yes. Simple - at least for me - not so much. But....I did wind up - eventually - with a somewhat decent version that I'm sharing here. See that blob above the sentiment tag...grrrrr! I did my best to hide it (aka: design innovation), but it was larger than I realized. Oh well...'most' of it worked out...kind of...
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and hope that you can carve in some crafting time to join us in the gallery!
Thank you for dropping by!
Very pretty color combo on that big peony! Your results are gorgeous and the “blob” adds depth to the petals.

ReplyDeleteThat 'blob' just makes your gorgeous flower unique. Lovely bright colours. Fabulous background too Carol. Don't be sooooooo hard on yourself.
ReplyDeleteI've been practicing and practicing with watercolors and I definitely don't think there's anything simple about them! I do like what you've done with the "fast watercoloring" - the color variations are stunning!
ReplyDeleteOh wow your flower looks amazing my friend!! REALLY love how it just pops from your background full of texture!! I love this! HUGS :)
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful and the technique was perfect. I never would have noticed the “blob” if you hadn’t mentioned it. I wouldn’t call it that at all. I think you did a fab job!
ReplyDeleteWhat am I going to do with you, Carol? Your flower is gorgeous (what you consider a blob and all) and the background die adds great texture and interest.
ReplyDeleteSuper lovely big ole flower!
