Christmas Blessings...ATSM #117~ Make Your Mark

Hello all...and time once again for another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More #117~Make Your Mark.  The popularity of this challenge is gaining by leaps and bounds, which means we're open to an abundance of interpretations: markers, chalks, pencils, paints, etc.  You may also use something that you feel will 'make your mark' on your project. If you think your interpretation isn't obvious, please let us know.

To be honest, I had a struggle-fest with the challenge this go-round, because I was "too focused" on using certain markers (yes, my *friends*, the distress markers) and certain images. We won't talk about the number of attempts made, until I finally arrived at something I 'sort of' like (it's growing on me).  I used distress markers to colour the image, huffed and puffed to activate the inks, then stamped onto a 4 X 4 panel of water-colour paper.  I resisted the urge to colour in the image; the 'lines' of the stamp are pretty as is. My husband agreed; he called it 'rustic'...

    I think using your Distress Markers on these images was such a great choice, Carol! I love that you resisted coloring them in, and your stitched border is fabulous! Really gorgeous card!!!

    I think this is perfect as it is, it is hard with this challenge to sometimes go over the top with the colouring (like I did this week!) but often the more rustic (cool hubby) the better x

    Oh I totally agree with the "pretty as is"! This is very pretty!! I love the outline of the stamp stamped in the different colors! I can also see how it would be hard to resist the urge to color it in. I'm thinking I would have had to stamp two and color one just too see how it looked! heheh! Beautiful work my friend! ((Hugs))

    I think it is wonderful that you resisted the urge, the outline is so gorgeous and brings out the elegance of the images. The faux stitched edge adds even more elegance! Well played Carol!

    Rustic, elegant and GORGEOUS!! I adore how this turned out! The outlined images are perfect for creating the rustic mood. Absolutely breathtaking.     Wow, this is beautiful Carol! You didn't need to stress over using the markers on this one because it came out fabulous!! I love that image and I love the markers. I agree with hubby and think that it has a rustic feel to it, but in a good way. Simple and elegant to me! Hugs, Brenda
