You Make My Heart Smile....Inkspirational Challenge #154~Designers' Choice: Aperture

Hello,

Thank you to all who have sent hugs, positive vibes and well-wishes as I wrestle with the flu. Feeling a snippet better, thanks to my husband's insistence that I take it easy. I'm listening (for once!)

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #154~Designer's Choice, where our charming Kylie is inviting us to use an *Aperture* - window/opening - on our card. Maybe shaker comes to mind, hmmmm? Perhaps a frame? Whatever aperture signals to you, works for us! Bring 'em on!

Please welcome our Guest Designer, Jen, whose lovely Spring-themed aperture card is sure to stave off the winter chills (we're still well in the vise of cold weather: yesterday we 'bottomed out' at minus 44C!). My wonderful team - Shauna, Kylie, Sandie, Marina, Nonni and Yvonne - have designed lovely inspiration pieces as well; please leave them some love if you have a chance.

In addition to our challenge, I was also inspired by the Stained Glass Hearts Challenge over at FUSION.
I used Concord & 9th's Heartstrings die, cutting it on a white cardstock panel, then filled the 'apertures' created with a rainbow of cardstock snippets. A generous slathering with my Tonic Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen came next, as a nod to the stainglass effect. This pen is certainly different than Wink of Stella in being very very shimmery, but the brush seems to be really stiff. A bit of a learning curve, I guess. That sparkle is yummy, though...

Hard to see but the white panel is 'popped up' as a stylized 'window' opening.

Oh gosh, Carol. I've gotten a bit behind in reading my blogs and I didn't know you got the flu! I'm so sorry! I hope you are indeed taking it easy and starting to feel a bit better. I hope you are staying home and out of that frigid cold, too! Yikes! Your card is beautiful. What a gorgeous heart die and I adore the sparkly rainbow colors! It makes ME smile. Lovely! You always make me smile, too. Except when you are sick. That is not fun! Feel better! Hugs!!

That IS shimmery!! You may have just caused a run on the Nuvo pen, lol!! What a clever idea, my friend. This is one bright, happy, and sweet card!! Perfection from all angles. Great sentiment, too. Hope you continue to feel better, dear friend, and don't push things...you don't want a relapse! Don't make me come up there, lol!!! Sending gentle hugs. Bev

I love the graphic, colorful, fun, young, happy look of this! This truly is wonderful! That heart die is going to my shopping cart at Concord and 9th today... I've been wanting it for ages! Stunning use of it!

Your rainbow heart is glorious, Carol. I know it's an optical illusion but it looks like it's the heart that's popped up instead of the white panel.
